Is there a way to kill "alerts" you have seen? I get a long list and there maybe a half dozen or so that are new. There is a little black dot on the new but it means starting near the bottom and scrolling up until I find the first black dot. Not hard to do but like the forums can I just see the new?
 
Mine are always right at the top. The bell has a number just indicating how many new ones there are. I check the alerts nearly daily. I may have 2 or 3 at the most.

Are you able to mark them as read? In your profile, go to alerts and check Mark Read.
 
I just checked mine. I have 27 total. I know for a fact that I have received more than that.
Seems that the older ones start going away after a while.
 
A little research shows that this is normal behavior for this forum software. We can ask tech support if they can find a way around it.
