Master Cylinder meltdown

My mechanic is now repairing one of the two master cylinders on a 2000 Southwind Storm, Workhorse chassis.  He says is melted due to the fact that it is located next to the manifold.  Has anyone else had this problem, and how did you insulate the new master cylinder?

First time I've even seen a mention of such a problem... I would believe that if the Mechanic is telling you the truth you need to contact the National Highway Traffic Safety folks with a possible problem.. That would (or should) generate recalls  and I've not heard of any for that.

However you should check the agency web page to see if a recall has been issued
