Might Be Rough Season For NPS and Forest Service

In my nearly 40 years of working with government funded projects, I am more than confident that there is waste as I have personally witnessed it, to varying extents. Fraud is a strong word, so I am not going there.
There's some degree of waste in most anything, so it's relative. My idea of waste is allowing a South African billionaire to buy his way into running the US Gov't. His 25 year old wimp wonderkids paused the purchasing cards of VA personnel who use the cards to maintain essential equipment like dialysis machines for veterans, they thought it would be funny to place a daily limit of $1.00 on the purchasing cards. What's equally alarming is that some 25 year old punk ass kid has the discretion over setting daily purchasing limits on anything, much less at the VA.

I have a friend who is a retired district ranger with the USFS in Oregon. Our rulers and overlords, in their infinite wisdom, fired the head mule/horse packer and all of the folks who take care of the mules and horses for 2 national forests. However they forgot to fire the horses and mules who are now left in pastures without any human caretakers. I’m sure it will all work out well, and the dollars those people cost will definitely settle the national debt.

And what exactly is it?
It's a total nightmare not making the slightest dent in the national debt. Actually, eventually costing us more for restoration. Regressive human evolution in real time right before our eyes. Besides damage to our beloved jewels, the National Parks, an entire generation of scientists are being lost. Dark, dark times...middle ages stuff.

Were the middle ages when america was great?

I do have to question how many times in year his services are needed. I also don't agree with why it cant' be contracted out.
That's a good question. But it's one that can't be answered by anyone who is not directly involved in the overall process. If you don't understand the effort, how do you employ someone to work that effort. Conversely, if you don't understand the effort, how do you determine who needs to stay and who can be let go. That is the major downside to the current approach to cutting out waste.

I don't doubt there's waste to be found, but nothing significant has been documented so far. It appears the definition of fraud being used by those in charge is fraudulent in itself. Where's the promised transparency...

Anymore $8 billion claimed savings that were really just $8 million? The site also makes savings claims for money that has already been spent. Much of what DOGE claims has been easily debunked using public information
I'd read of rumors that the WH was considering writing a check to taxpayers for a % of the savings DOGE was earning for America. I was hoping they'd at least base my % on the bullsh** figures and not the actual figures.
