I drove by the site of a multi RV accident, reportedly with fatalities according to nearby town facebook page a few hours ago located on US287 north of Boise City, Oklahoma. The accident happened by the state line rest area at the Oklahoma / Colorado state line. This was a multi vehicle accident, the highway was closed for at least an hour leaving Boise City, and I am assuming at some point for southbound traffic from Colorado I was north bound and I went over half an hour before seeing southbound traffic, and when I saw it there was a LOT of it. I don't have a lot of details, but can tell you a towable (trailer or 5th wheel) was involved and so was a Class B o B+ motorhome, along will possibly a couple of other vehicles. There were a number of police vehicles and tow trucks at the site when I went by. I will check to see if my dash cam caught anything in a bit when I get settled for the evening.

Not good but I do know how things can go to Crap when traveling. Still recovering in fact. Thankfully I did not break anything other than my Jeep but I did mess up a muscle in my back.

When I crashed my jeep last month glad P was I am a very firm believer in seat belts!!!
Government is going about requiring seat belts the wrong way IMO. Insurance companies should be encouraged to make comprehensive coverage dependent on wearing a seat belt; same with motorcycle helmets.
Nothing attracts attention like money.

Back to the crash; It's very easy to become distracted for a few seconds, that's enough time to be involved in a deadly crash.
I listen to radio sometimes while driving, but when traffic is heavy the radio is off, I want all my concentration on arriving at my destination safely. I know my driving skill level, don''t know other drivers skill level. That was called defensive driving in the 1950's and 1960's.

We were in a bad wreck several years ago. I was wearing my seat belt, which broke my collar bone. My face never touched the air bag.

Just came back from a funeral where the deceased could not have been wearing a seat belt. So very sad...

Safe travels and all the best.

As Insaid up thead was in a bad wreck May 3, Worst I have been in. Belted of course. X-ray and Cat scan showed only old and old age damage. Nothing broken save one muscle still painful (It was slightly pre crash but PAIN!!!! post still recovering) Firm believer in belt above 10MPH (Mail box to parking spot inside apartment complex) Minor injury from air bag. Passenger got burned by it however.
