I tried to do a search here to find my original post, but couldn't figure out how to do it, so I'll report back here"

I received my new  custom ordered 2019 Toyota Tacoma yesterday and I couldn't be more pleased with the service.

I live in the NC high country and they drove the truck here. I checked it out and drove it. We did all the paper work here, transfered the plate from my old truck, we paid them and they drove the old truck away . They had never seen my trade in truck, and over the phone took my word for the condition and mileage.
In my 83 years on this earth, this was the best vehicle buying experience, (zero haggling, and no running around to various dealers)) and best deal I have ever had.
According to my figures based on Edwards Blue book for the cost of the new vehicle and the value of my trade in, I saved several thousand dollars if not more.
I asked the driver how they do it, and his reply was similar to the AAA rep that I went through, and he said all the dealers profits and sales commissions are eliminated.
First time in my life I bought a new vehicle without ever leaving the house!

I looked at the AAA Car Buying program at AAA-South (I'm in Florida) and it is much different than what AAA-Carolinas offers.  Basically just invokes True Car.  The discount is modest at best, plus you have to go to a dealer.

So, anyone interested in using AAA for a car deal should carefully check what their local AAA club offers - may not be as sweet as Jack's.

Yes you are correct !
One of my son in laws who lives in the  midwest is in the market for a new vehicle and I asked the AAA driver about it and he said no way would they drive a vehicle that far, so it would be best to check with your local AAA.
I saw their ad in their NC/SC magazine

It's possible that the Carolinas AAA is using the vehicle makers Fleet Buyer program. That cuts deeply into the cost overhead, even though orders are still placed thru a dealer. Details vary by auto-maker.  I still don't see how "thousands" can be cut, though.  Even if the discount is compared to MSRP (which hardly anybody pays anyway).

Doesn't make any difference, though, cause JackL is happy with both the price and excellent service. And that's all that is important.
