I was trying to think of something different to do for Sue Anne for Christmas, she just doesn't need "things" though I have to get some.  And we are still going to Florida but I have so much to do it keeps getting pushed forward but its going to happen.

But anyway, I tried to think of something to spice up Christmas so what I've done is to ask internet friends or heck anyone that wants to even if I don't know you, that see my postings if they would send her a Christmas card this year.  I'm sure most here know that Sue Anne is 41 and mentally challenged.  She loves to get mail and she is having a ball getting Christmas cards from my internet friends and acquaintances on forums I frequent.

If any of you could, I would appreciate it, she doesn't need money nor gifts so don't do that, just a card is all.

Her name is Sue Anne Frederick and our address is 8409 West State Road 58, Merom, Indiana 47861, that's our new address and we will be here through Christmas.  Some folks have sent picture cards and I had no idea what some of the people look like that I talk to.  My favorite name is "Archie the Dragon", its just all in good fun and she is so enjoying waiting to see if she got some today.

Now I still have to think of some good Christmas presents to order for her and I'm telling you this year my mind is blank as she gets most everything she wants on her own anyway and of course its also limited what I can get her that she is able to enjoy.

If some of you can, thank you and if not, have a very Merry Christmas anyway.

I told hubby you know what there is cold weather up here.  We got in last night from 70's and its 41 and raining, brrrr.  I told him, your truck is muddy and dirty and its yucky.  He said that is why you have a motorhome so you don't have to stay here in the winter if you don't want to.  He is so right.  I will love spring, summer, and fall, but uhhhhhh, I'm not so sure about winter, this doesn't look to promising. 30 years of no real winter kind of removes it from your memory!

Consider it done!  That's a fun gift I'm sure Sue Anne will enjoy.  Merry Christmas to you both!

We partly decided to spend Christmas here this year anyway, Tom's mom is 84, we bought a house 3 miles from her.  She still drives and gets around well, walks a mile a day! But she is slipping just a bit and this way she will be able to stay home for a long time.  Years ago I had to move my mom with us and it didn't work well at all, but times were different and at that time we could not relocate back. I only asked that please don't move her in, I will take her to docs and whatever but 2 women in one house, well, and with Sue Anne 3, that is next to impossible.

I knew Tom was starting to worry about his mom and he was so wonderful helping me with mine I felt like I needed to help in return.  She certainly is not to that point yet by any means but 84!  that's pretty good.  And Sue Anne is going to really enjoy visiting with grandma and is able to go over and stay at times.  I told her enjoy the time she has left as you never know, though I agree with grandma that she will likely live to be 100!

Also if we are gone, grandma will babysit BJ, I think she enjoys him more then she will admit.  He is a great dog.  He looks so good, sleek and healthy, I said what did you do. She kept him for several weeks as I was transporting, DD, dog, and cat back and forth moving furniture.  She said oh he pretty much ate what I did, I just cooked enough for 2!  ???  Well  I don't think he is going to eat that well here!  And now he thinks he is an inhouse dog, Tom is going to just DIE.  He does not want a dog in the house.  I will blame his mom and besides, its COLD here its 44 out now and has been drizzling!  Oh dear, BJ is snoring how funny.

I am definitely going to put one in the mail for her tomorrow BUT it likely won't make it there by Christmas due to coming from Canada but I can hope.

You must leave BJ in the house now because he won't like the winter any more than you and I.  I hate it, we have had ice rain on and off all day today - makes for an interesting drive to work..

Great Idea..

Merry Christmas to you too Caroline.

P.S. Make Florida happen, never mind the "stuff" that needs to be done, it will be there when you get back :)

Thanks folks, she is really enjoying this, she is just so hard to buy for, so its fun for her.

I want to get away, but I am selling rental number 2, FHA is a nightmare, no wonder houses don't sell.  I have had my part done for weeks and all we are waiting on is the appraisal.  They have screwed up the sale of housing till its a mess. We are keeping a few as the older tenants want to stay, fine by us.

Next will be the sale of our house, so I have had people working on this that and the other, Sadly I just can't walk away.

I decided to sort of pre inspect our house as its older so didn't want any surprises. But we still have lots to move or get rid of.

I hope we don't have to move again for awhile.

All of you have a Merry Christmas  in case I don't back this way.

We lived up here for over 30 years and I don't believe I remember a storm like this.  Thankfully the ground is to warm for snow to stick but we have had the wind blowing up to 50mph.  It sounds like a hurricane does down south.  Before it got dark I could see snow blowing sideways.  Starts to make you wonder if the 21st is it!!  Wish I had heated up that homemade lasagna and eaten it today!  Don't want it to go to waste.

Sue Anne hasn't felt good for several days, today it turned into vomitting. We were almost to the emergency clinic at Terre Haute and poor kid, all over her and dads new truck.  Luckily most went on the rubber mat and her poor thing.  She had no fever or anything so they think viral.  Still he gave her a shot to stop that and to stop her headache, she gets them all the time.  So tonight she is feeling a lot better.  Also gave her flagyl as she has a history of a colon resection and diverticulitus.  We had been to him once before, nice to find a good doc.  We need to find docs up here for her, they referred her to a gastro doc and we are going to see him the 2nd of January.  We made it back home just as it started snowing the wind had really picked up.  So far we still have electric

She is feeling a lot better and asleep, glad we got her there and take care of, she will be fine now.

It's only 33, supposed to get in the low 20's tonight, wonder if it will make it.  I bought us winter boots today, that seems odd.  Our dog has never seen snow, we aren't going to get any accumulation bet the first time he ever does he will have fun in it.  We aren't heading back to Houston till after the first of the year sometime.  Don't mind the weather long as we don't have to get out in it and I keep as someone else said a small store in the basement.  I've always had a pretty good stash of food and supplies back, hate to run out of stuff.

Sounds like you ae well prepared for any storm problem.  I can remember when we lived in Vermont we would make sure we had wood for the stove, food in the pantry and water in the tubs and some in bottles for drinking.  Without power the pump wouldn't run for water.  Sometimes it is kind of nice to just stay in, nice and toasty and let the world go by.  I remember the big snow of 67 in Chicago took me 16 hours to get home from work.  Was kind of fun because everyone was in the same boat.  The police took us off the bus as we could not move and spent the night in the train station with a bunch of people who had come to Chicago for a medical convention and could not get to the hotels.  One big party...

Hope Sue Ann will be feeling better tomorrow.

200 miles NW of you it's definitely sticking!  We only got about four inches, but its blowing around like crazy and turning to ice. Just got back in from clearing the drive. Count your blessings.  :)

We actually had about an inch of snow this morning, I think that wind froze the ground on top.  The bird feeders were empty so I got out and put bird feed out they were eating it off the ground and I refilled the feeders.

I had to push BJ out the door to go potty.  He stood on the porch shivering like everything, I wanted to laugh but took pity.

But I walked out to the mail box and he was out frolicking and running around so I think he was pulling my leg.

Sue Anne has gotten a lot of Christmas card, she is really enjoying them.  We are getting some with pictures of some beautiful motorhomes, now you guys quit that you will have me wanting one of those and I'm keeping the old Eagle!!  And we have gotten some with pictures of you folks too, its really neat to put faces to pictures.  Maybe one day we will get our house sold and that one rental finalized and we can break loose from some of that.  We got the appraisal by FHA on Wed but we have no idea when the lender will get it.  I was sure hoping not to have to mess with FHA they are a PITA.  I'm concerned if their appraiser will come up to what we sold it for as in that area the prices are all over the place.  My agent said he only spent about 20 minutes there.  You suppose he saw the new bathrooms, new kitchen, new roof, and tech shield decking, complete rewire, and new windows and doors?  We had fixed it to rent it for years.  He will probably only go by sq ft.  If it comes in low I'm not sure we will sell it, its a very nice rental.

Sue Anne is feeling much better today, she has slept a lot and is playing on her computer.  Her grandma and aunt came over and brought her a Christmas present.  They are 84 and 82 and out running around, hope I'm like that at their age.

This house is really easy to heat, its a geothermal system and they built it using foam insulation.  The garage is insulated but not heated.  I put a couple of little electric heaters out there and it heated it up nicely in about an hour and its 35 out with the wind still blowing at 25 with gusts of 40mph.  I cleaned the inside of Tom's truck out good after yesterday and put BJ out in the garage also.  It's comfortable, I will  put him in the basement for the night.  He has been staying up here some and its going to be 18 tonight so I don't want to leave him in the garage.  Next winter he will have the opportunity to grow thicker fur but not this winter.

It will be nice when Tom gets his new garage wired, his is insulated also so he can heat it.  My motorhome garage is not but that's ok, we are concerned with protecting it from the elements more then anything.  I had my handyman go over the seams down the caps and places we hadn't messed with yet.

Tom will be home the 12th, I hope to have the handyman load the trailer again, this should bring all the rest of the furniture.  We may bring my truck too or the motorhome, we aren't sure which.  My truck won't haul the load that Tom's will.  He said I ought to bring the motorhome back up so we can leave from here on a trip.  But I'm thinking of bringing my truck and leaving it and riding back down with him, he will fly out from Houston for awhile longer so he can bring tools up each time he is home.  I'm trying to help but no way can I lift any of that.  Have to get someone on each end to load and unload.  I can probably bring 1 or 2 more loads of tools then the rest will be him as I'm not sure what he wants out of some of what I call it his "junk", which he calls valuable stuff!  I don't mind.  MIL will keep BJ and I take kitty and Sue Anne and we truck along.

I will love the spring, summer, and fall here, winter, we shall see.  It's different then when I was young, had to get up and go to work or school in cold and snow now I don't have to go anywhere if I don't want so huge difference.

I love the way they designed the house, the whole back gets the winter sunshine and makes it cheery and bright.  I noticed in the fall the sun didn't fall in the house, I think the guy designed it to take advantage of the winter sun but not have it shine in here in the summer so its to hot.  The man who built it built it for he and his wife for their retirement years.  He did all the finish work and all the woodwork and finishes are just perfect.  She said she could not live here that she saw him in every part of it.  He was only in his 50's and had to have heart surgery, somehow it didn't go right and things just got worse and worse for him and he didn't make it.  Apparently not long afterward his brother had the same thing but they were able to save him, they think it was something hereditary in the family.  What a shame for him. We never know about life so might as well enjoy each day which we are doing.

Sue Anne is getting a big kick out of the cards she is getting.  She said you mean I have more?  She has been getting them from all over the US.  I bet the post mistress in our tiny town thinks man, that little gal gets around!

Thank all of you and have to thank the folks on another forum she is having a lot of fun with this.  We are also getting some pictures, and notes which she enjoys too.  Hope to see some of you down the road one day.
