I am 6-3 and 260lbs and have yet to find a class A for less than $40,000 that I can fit in. Which shower would be easier to remodel, class A or class C? I am able to tackle just about anything. It may take me a minute to complete the job, but I can tackle it.

Thank you for your recommendations.

Hi scchevelle468,

Not sure what kind of travel you want to do but most campgrounds have showers at their locations and I am sure you would fit into those without all the expense of modifying your RV.

I'd invest in flip flops for the shower and just clean your feet at the RV. Seems the most logical way to go about it, unless you plan to do a lot of boondocking. Safe travels!

An RV is nothing like a house or even a mobile home on wheels. You can't modify any of the structure without opening a can of worms. The roof, walls, and floor are a sandwich of 2 layers of very thin plywood with structural foam injected between them. You can't build anything using conventional construction materials without making it unsafe to drive. That would weaken the existing structure, exceed the weight limits of the frame, and throw the weight distribution off to one side. Also whatever you build won't stay together going down a highway in 70 mph hurricane force winds while hitting potholes like an 7.0 earthquake.

So find an RV that fits you without modification. Which is most likely going to be a Class A.

I don't know if you'd find any on the used market, but Alpha made RVs with high ceilings. I don't know if their showers were also higher.

We removed the shower in our class C and built a new one in its spot. It’s a long thread but all the details are included:
