Hello, my husband and I are looking to purchase a new 5th wheel fairly soon.  We are new to the RV world. Have been camping in a pop up tent trailer for years and are ready for a big change. There are so many on the market and not much info on reviews. Looking at Bay Hills, Big Horn and Sandpipers. Simply due to floor plans. Any thoughts?

Some good choices there, Big Horns get rave reviews and so do Cougar's which is the one I am looking at upgrading to....I am a full timer and really want a 4 season model....

I am not familiar with the Bay Hills or the Sandpipers.

Good Luck

Jim

I've never heard of Bay Hills before, but my Dad has been full-timing in a Big Horn for close to 7 years now.  It's mostly parked these days, but he has pulled it all over the U.S. and Canada.  He's had a couple of minor issues with it, but it's been good to him overall.  I have heard a lot of good for the Sandpipers also.

From the sounds of it, you are really taking a big step up.  Have you thought about the tow vehicle yet?  You will get a ton of good advice here on that as well, especially as you start narrowing your choice of 5th wheel down.  Most good advice will have you pick the camper first, then select a truck big/strong enough to pull it.

Good luck, and let us know if you have any other questions.
