We have a 40 ft Luxe fifth wheel. It has 2 furrion 1500 ducted ac/ heat pump units. Both are 5.5 years old. The bedroom of course stays cold. The living area has gotten to the point of being 87 degrees today with an outside tempature of 82. I keep returns clean and have the fins cleaned every year. It is blowing cool air. When it is 90 plus degrees outside, it has always managed to stay 78ish. I am thinking of replacing the unit. I am hesitant to go back with the same brand. They do have the Chiller 1800 now. I know that on a hot day it will never be 70 in the livingcarea, but jeez.

I suggest that you get a quality dial thermometer and measure the temperature of the air into the air conditioner, record that and then measure the temperature of the air exiting the air conditioner, at the air conditioner. The temperature should be lowered by 18° to 24°. If the temperature is lowered too much the unit may freeze up and too little means that it isn't cooling properly. The other key factor is the outside air entering the RV and the sun on it.
