This changes late fall & winter plans, but it will help me a lot.

I am in Springfield IL visiting with Estelle and my Springfield family, esp sister-in-law Cathy with terminal stomach cancer who just started powerful chemo. This trip was decided and booked at 1 am Sat and I was on the plane at 3.30 pm. ::)

Anytime we enter the hospital we place ourselves in harms way. I came so that if I end up eternally healed, Estelle would not feel horrible for staying with Cathy and friend Patty that needs lots of help. IMO, real husbands place their priority on their spouse and their children.  ;)

You, my friends, are my much loved framily.

My plane leaves SPI for DFW ->ABQ at 5.30 CT this Wed. I will attempt to connect to the Virtual Campfire, if time allows, in DFW.

Next Tue is doing Pre-admission at UNM H with the expectation I will return very early on Wed, but perhaps Thur. I am waiting for a call from Cardiology with that info at any time. A new bi-ventricular pacemaker will be the means to my ever improving health. ;D

Good luck with the procedure, Bob.  We'll be thinking of you all this week.  We look forward to reading your report of complete success.

Safe trip, successful surgery, and speedy recovery.

Good luck and prayers Bob, of course you know this means another battery to maintain (as if we don't have enough) I guess this would be a chassis battery :D Keep in touch, let us know how it goes as soon as you get out. :) :)

Will, The battery and electronics are like my present ICD, self contained and permanent with a variable life span depending on whether it has a defib as well. My two sides have been out of sync for more than two years.

Take care Bob;,We'll be praying for a speedy recovery. We look forward to hearing from the bionic you.

We'll be in Abq Wed, Thu, Fri at the VA. I'll be sure to check into the VC. Holler if there's anything else we can do.

Wendy

Yesterday, I learned that my out of sync heart will have CRT [Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy,] with the implantation of a bi-ventricular ICD that will both be a pacemaker and, if needed, defibrillator. The procedure will be this Friday AM at UNM Medical Center. I check in at 9.15 and it is now DAY Surgery!!! Moreover, will be by the best qualified physician, one recognized for his pioneering newer and better implantation procedures, Dr. Michael West. Dr. West implanted my present ICD in Feb '05 when the Lovelace Cardiology Surgical Specialist refused to touch it. I feel so much more positive. .  . That was my 1st VC from a hospital room. ;)

Surgery sucks. Day surgery is better. Looks like you're at the VC. I'm having Internet problems and am in the Forum via iPhone but no luck with VC.

Wendy

Best of luck to you, my friend, and we expect to hear your report on a successful procedure.
