My bet is this your way to star another pro EV thread going in the direction of how cheap a used one can be acquired and how great they are and charging is easy and everywhere.

Me. I expected it to happen with EVs. I have said so here in the past that I expect EVs to soon be cheaper than ICE.

Back when I bought my Tesla it was a good time to buy new. Now it is a better time to buy used and especially for Tesla.

I do not care about depreciation for myself. I usually buy new and keep it until junked and I do not care what my vehicles are worth to others.

However, if I went to buy an EV car these days, I would only consider used for cars. New for motorcycles. That is different because the technology is just starting to improve on electric motorcycles.

If the price is right one can always rationalize some amount of depreciation including 100%. At the end of the day if the EV provides some utility and it runs long enough to achieve some cost target then it's a plausible option. At least have an exit plan if the thing ends up BER. I'm now soundly in a commuter situation an EV could be rationalized, a couple colleages at work have them. Though I'm thinking it might be fun to put my homebuilt back on the road and show what a non wussified EV looks like.

There was a British Velocity channel show called Vintage Voltage that converted classic cars into EVs. This made sense if the car had little collectable value and would only be driven on a limited basis. Same as all EVs.

The EV I made was my daily driver for 10 years. With a nominal range of 55 miles and zero public chargers. I am no fanboy of EV's but there's no question the current crop of them could serve many.

If he can get chargers programmed for it, that will get one across the county. Not that I would want to put up with doing such with such an old EV.
