Anyone out there that knows anything about Tiffin Rv's. I heard that Mr. Tiffin tried to retire and his sons took over the company and it almost when under so he returned. I understand the Rv's are great. I'm worried if he leaves for whatever reason the company will not stand behind the Rv. Anyone have anything to say???

Well, I have a Tiffin product.  That information is lots of years old..... ;)  He has made several changes since that time frame and I would think he would have taken care of the issue.  If we were to buy a new coach, I would be looking at a new Tiffin.

Here is the website for a Tiffin owners forum:  http://www.tiffinrvnetwork.com/  It is not owned by Tiffin, you can check things out.

Welcome to the RVForum.  If you do decide to get a Tiffin, have fun!!!

I am on my second Tiffin Motorhome and would buy another Tiffin without a question.  Over the past 20 years I have been to the Tiffin Plant in Red Bay, Al at least a dozen times. I have heard of no problems with the "boys" running the operations. Bob Tiffin retired, but he really never left. Bob is a "people" person and just loves being around the plant.

The biggest problem with their service is that their service is so good that they can not handle all their service in a timely manner. In the past 10 years they have opened 30 new service bays. Of course, several of the service bays may be tied up for several days with major repairs. However, they try to keep some bays reserved for minor repair. The past several times that I have been in for service I was in and out within a week. If you have major repairs you may be there for weeks. Also, don't go for service when "snowbirds" are headed north or south.

I don't think their coaches are any better (or worse) than other top brands, but their customer service and factory repair facilities are outstanding, even after the warranty expires. However, success has made the factory service much less available than it used to be - they are simply overwhelmed with owner requests.

If I were shopping today, a Tiffin would be high on my list, but so would models from Fleetwood and Monaco.

I have owned 2 Tiffin Allegro coaches in the past, a 1983 model and a 1998 model and would have bought another one if I had found what I was looking for before I found the Fleetwood American Dream that I now own.  I liked both of my Allegro coaches and always received excellent service form Tiffin.

Like Gary said, if I was looking again today I would definitely consider a Tiffin Coach high on my list along with Fleetwood, Monaco and Newmar Coaches as well as some others.

Gary, I'm not sure where you are getting this info, but since you had mentioned this in another thread message, I've been talking to Tiffin owners that I have met since we left home the middle of January until now.  I have talked to quite a few new Tiffin coach owners who have been to Red Bay for work.  None have complained about the service in Red Bay.  I've also been on the Tiffin RVForum for the last several weeks reading lots of threads.  There are some grumblings, but it's about not being able to make an appointment and having to wait for things like an oil change; where before you could schedule an appointment for that type of stuff.  What I have heard a lot of complaints about, tho is the new Cummins def engine and all the problems it's been having.  Those Tiffin owners are upset about being stranded on the road because the new engine had "derated" and will only go 5-10 miles per hour.
