Hello everyone.  I just purchased this motorhome.  It only has 30,000 miles on it but it has been sitting in a driveway for 3-4 years.  I got an awesome deal on it and I am bringing it to a dealership in my city for a total overhaul.  Before I drive it 1.5 hours home, what things should I do to make sure it is road safe?  I have had travel trailers in the past but this is my first motorhome.  Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

The first thing would be to check those tires for age...(Not tread life)

And of course make sure you have brakes  ;D ;D

Some advice: Don't just ask that RV dealer for a "complete overhaul". Discuss the situation and ask his advice, then come back here to review his recommendations before giving the go-ahead.  RV shops get $125+ per hour these days, so any labor is hugely expensive. Plus they tend to just slap new parts on rather than doing much diagnosis. Last, chances are much of what may be needed should come from a chassis or mechanical shop, not an RV dealer.  In fact, I would specifically exclude oil changes and such from most RV dealers. You probably want a Ford dealer (guessing its a Ford F53 chassis under the Adventure), a truck tire shop, a truck alignment shop, etc.  You will do more driving around, but get better qualtiy work at less expense.
