New member with a generator issue

New member needing help.  Ray from South Carolina.
I have an Onan Marquis 7000 in my 34' National.  The generator runs perfect while in the yard or at the repair shop, however after driving approximately 40 miles the generator shuts off.  If it restarts it only runs for a few minutes.  It has been serviced, fuel pump replaced, fuel filter replaced, and tuned up.  Has anyone experienced this issue and if so what might be the solution?

Is RV Gas or Diesel?

ON gas systems the fuel system is more or less sealed. oh there is a vent (via a charcoal canister) but if this vent is not venting properly the main engine can create a vacuum in the tank the generator can not overcome.

Or propane?  For awhile, National RV was gung-ho on LP gensets.
