Hello. New member. Looking for first RV soon. Retiring in another 12-18 month or at least cutting back and my wife and I are looking to see the country and maybe spend some time up in Canada. Looking to purchase a used Diesel pusher or maybe a Super C. Any recommendations are appreciated. What To stay away from is helpful also. Budget is about $150K. Thanks in advance. Any guidance is also appreciated. Also if someone could recommend guides and books on nat?l and state parks, where to find info on reserving sites and where to find restrictions on if some parks limit RV sizes.

Welcome to the best Forum you ever joined.  Most every question and concern has been/ or can be answered her (concerning RV life that is).  I recommend that you spend countless hours reading many previous posts, especially up in the library.  You will get a great overview and in-depth knowledge of the many goods and bads of the RV live.  Your specific questions you have asked, well others will give responses, but looking at previous posts, you will get a collection of many responses and perspectives.  Most every question you've asked has been asked many times before with many in-depth answers.  Good luck, you're off to a good start, you've started doing your homework.  :)

Welcome. You made a wise decision to join the forum and do some research. Many of the experienced RV owners point out that buying a lightly used RV has significant advantages. For RVs, there is a huge depreciation cost in buying new. Also, buying 1 to 3 years used means that the original owners have likely taking care of all the warranty repairs. Many (most?) new RVs will have a number of problems covered under warranty which may sit at the dealer for long periods (months) waiting to be repaired under warranty. Finally, except in high end RVs, older RVs were often better built than new ones.

You have a nice size budget. But, I suggest you set aside a substantial amount of that budget to pay for items and services after purchasing. For instance, RV beds and furniture are usually very cheap and uncomfortable. And, even in a dream RV, you'll want to add or update to meet your individual needs and comfort preferences.

Please feel free to ask lots of questions. And, please keep us updated about your progress on this new adventure. Lots of friendly forum members who are willing to help.
