My screen name is a long story but to make it short I was buying something from a friend and tried to get him down in price. His comment was "you are trying to get blood from a turnip" Then he said "that is a good name for you, turnip". That was some 30 years ago and it has stuck with me ever since. My license plate on my truck reads "pinrut" which is turnip spelled backwards.
People in stores call me turnip and it makes a few heads turn.? ;D
