Thanks for the friendly responses.
We currently manage an apartment complex in Beverly Hills but we are retiring in July. We own a home in Fallbrook, CA (North Eastern San Diego County) that we currently have rented out. We bought that house many years ago with the intention of moving in directly upon retirement. However, the purchase of this M/H may give us other options while still collecting rent (although my wife is pretty anxious to move into the house right away).
We camp regularly with a camping club that is comprised of all sorts of rigs (mostly trailers). For the last 6 years, we've had pop-up campers and the last was a 2004 Trailmanor, hard-side pop-up. I'm just tired of messing with set-up and tear down as a big part of our camping experience and we are looking forward to being able to use our camper while traveling.
I have a bad back (I guess a lot of people in their 60s do

) It will be such a pleasure to be able to take 1-hour shifts driving. However, if we don't end up taking a 6 to 12-month trip cross country, most of our camping is at local beaches. Our favorite campgrounds are San Elijo (near Carlsbad) and Pt Mugu in Ventura.
I'm pretty over-whelmed with all of the gadgets on this Winnebago and will probably be asking a lot of questions after our 1st camp-out. I have been reading the "Operators Manual" and have learned a lot (thankfully I got all of the manuals with the coach). The 1st thing that I learned is that this coach is a '98 (not a '99 as it is registered as). The coach only has 19K miles on it and it sat for 5-years. Obviously it was not used much before that.
I immediately installed new batteries then took the coach in and had the trans fluid flushed, pulled the pan and had a new filter installed. The tech said that the trans looks like new and the seals are still soft. I was concerned that the seals may be dried out. I intend to change the engine oil, flush the cooling system and brake fluid as well.
I used to be a Chevrolet Service Manager for many years and I built racing engines so I'm pretty mechanical. Any tips on things to watch for on these older Winnebagos would be helpful..... BTW, it's on a 460 Ford V8 chassis. This is the 1st time in my life owning a Ford......
