Hello, we're new to this forum, a retired couple with a home in SW Florida, and a class A MH to travel about at will in, and now to use as an escape shelter, from the many hurricanes hitting our area, our MH has been a blessing to us. Since starting Rving at retirement 5-1/2 yrs. ago these RV forums have been a big help with information, and we managed to pass along some info. of our own with experience comes knowledge, as we purchased a notebook PC and learned all about WiFi etc. out on the road, and many other circumstances that have come about.

Sue/Al,

Welcome to the RV Forum.  We are looking forward to y0our participation here.  Any chance you will be able to attend one of the RV Forum rallies?  We would sure like to meet you folks.

Welcome, Sue & Al.  We are also Floridians from the Ocala area, though we live half time in our motorhome too.

How about jumping in that Class A and driving up to Tifton, GA this week?  We are having a small gathering for RV Forum folk here a Amy's RV Park, Nov 1-6.  You could meet several nice folks and swap lies, er uh experiences, with the rest of us.

For more info see the thread at http://www.rvforum.net/SMF_forum/index.php?topic=1064.0

Thanks for the invite but just got back from N. Fl. having shuttered up the house to run away from Wilma, much to do upon returning. Then in a couple weeks it's cataract surgery for Al, always something to keep us off the road...LOL    ::)

Maybe next time, then.  The Southeastern members are planning another get-together for the last week of April, 2006.  It is expected to be near Augusta, GA., at the Winfeld Corp of Engineers Campground on the Savannah River.

Do you have power at your home?  Much of the Ft Lauderdale area where our daughter resides is still without elecric and all the services that require it.

Yes, we have power we were not hit much by Wilma, sister in Coral Springs (other coast) N. of Lauderdale just got power restored yesterday afternoon. We took a direct hit last year from Charley, a much stronger storm, that was enough for us, we can only pray no more ,but ya never know?
And while they may not have power, they are better off, our peoplein Char. Cty. suffered in 90 d. heat during and after Charley. But right behind Wilma was a cold front, so it's quite cool, windows open no air-cond. needed, piece of cake for all the outside clean-up....also over there nice and cool!
