We camped a lot when the kids were younger. It’s been 25 years or so. We’re looking to get back since retiring and empty nest. Looking at a class C. Things have changed some. We’re looking at the Entegra ESTEEM 27U. Not full time. Long weekends or a week here and there. Watching a lot of YouTube about the needs and not needs to get started. Looking to buy early fall. First got to get a car to flat tow.

Hi tankertoad,

Be sure to check the load capacity on the C's as some don't have much payload capacity, especially after you add your water, fuel and LP. Beware of RV dealers and what they tell you as some can be less than honest to get a sale.

Weekends and a week here and there is what most people do, although this forum has a lot of full time members. You won't have to worry as much about storage and weight if you aren't full timing.

Many years ago I bought a 30 foot Class C because my wife liked the extra space. I would have gone with a 24 foot. The same size as a dually pickup so it would be just as maneuverable and fit in a Walmart parking space. No need to tow a car is a big advantage. And generally speaking a shorter Class C has more weight capacity.

Welcome to The Forum.

I would recommend going to the Jayco/Entegra forum to find out as much as possible about the model you're interested.

Ask about common problems to look for when purchased new.Take whatever tips you find out with you to the dealer when you are looking to close the deal, and have them addressed Before you sign or give them a dime. May save you $$$ and aggravation down the line.

Check out RVTrader, or RVT, online. There you will find a wide assortment of "tow ready" vehicles saving you from buying a tow capable vehicle, and the all the other stuff needed to tow four down.

Don't be a stranger, a wealth of expert information can be found right here, on The Forum!
