Hello, just doing a bunch of research on the lifestyle of full time. Selling house and downsizing.  From northern canada, worked in patch with gas wells pretty much last 40 yrs.
Have spent long periods in 5th wheel 30ft, so have a vague idea of what to expect.  Thinking 40 ft is required. Just the two of us, working part time, about to retire, full time.  Expect not to be living in MH in winter conditions, ok maybe in Az.  About all for intro, just reading and learning from others who know or did not know and are learning the hard way.
Looking for Tiffin or Newmar. 2007 and up.
Thanks for the opportunity to read about all your experiences..

When I had a girlfriend we started out living full time in a 32 foot. Way too small for two people. So we got 39 footer and that was just fine. Tiffin and Newmar are great rigs, but I would not restrict my search to those two models. There are dozens of other manufacturers that put out a coach that is just as good. When searching for a used RV in my opinion the condition and floor plan are way more important than the manufacturer. Ned is spot on about using the library here. Here is a link to an article in there that I wrote called Full timing 101:

We just completed three years in 32 ft MH and did just fine (with two slides). Last month we traded for 34 ft MH  (three slides including one full body) and feel as if we're in heaven. Forty ft is not really necessary to full time, but it pleases the ego!
YMMV
