NHM Genny fuel pump

fuel pump in my generator has gone out and I am needing to replace it.  The OEM one I found online is $240 from what I have found (link below)

Curious if anyone else has had one like this but swapped it out with another low pressure model instead? like below

Seems to be the same setup just different locations for inlet.  I would think it should work just fine.

    The carter vane pump you show would work fine but be warned that my experience is that when the ethanol phases out it corroded the bypass piston. That controls the fuel pressure which can exceed the burst pressure of most small filter and over ride the float, flooding the carb with fuel. I have had two fuel regulator blow out spraying fuel all over a hot engine and now only use them with a quality fuel regulator  with relief and routed back to tank. another expensive item over $100.

    Small inline plunger type pumps supply enough fuel to run an Onan (I have several on 350 chevys) and cannot develop enough pressure to be harmful. Pay attention to the design pressure of the carb since the float works on a very small amount of leverage it is easy to push past the needle seat with even a slight amount too much.

    If you dont have a problem in your life with ethanol phasing out then it would work well

I had the airtex pump on my 7000 emerald for 5+ years, a couple hundred hours. No problems.
