I live full time in a 99 Jayco Eagle. This is my first experience with an RV. This morning it was cold when I got up. When I checked the temperature it was 63 degrees and the thermostat was making these little clicking noises. It was working when I went to bed. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

First suspect. Low battery After that there is a file or two in the forum library that describe the sequence of events But alas I"m not sure whre to find the forum library any more

Is the clicking coming from the stat or the furnace? If it's propane make sure the gas valve is open on your tank.

If the rv has 2 propane tanks and an auto switchover regulator make sure you are using the regulator correctly. The ones i am familiar with have a specific procedure to hook up the tanks so they cut over from the empty tank to the full one autonatically. I wouldnt call that procedure intuitive.

Thanks for the responses. I have plenty of propane. The clicking appears to be coming from the thermostat. When I pop the cover you can hear it in the circuit board.

No idea but if you posted more info perhaps others here might be able to offer more help

what brand thermostat? Is it single or dual zone heat? How often does the clicking occur? Is it frequent or does it seem to be coincide with the normal cycle of a heater trying to run?

I am wondering if you are both Russel57 and also neanderthal57 and if so, why two different ID's?

It would probably help us to help you if we knew more about the equipment that you have the make & model of both the thermostat and the furnace, possibly a picture of the thermostat and does the thermostat control both the furnace and the air conditioner? Like John above, the first thing that I would do is to check the voltage that you have. Also, are you connected to 120V shore power or operating from the batteries? Does everything else seem to be working as it should?

I'm sorry I don't remember the thermostat brand. I will check it after work. I woke up to a cold trailer. When I went to check the the thermostat it was clicking. It makes the noise like the heat is trying to kick on. If I turn the thermostat to off it stops. When I turn it back on the clicking starts back up.

I am both. I am also old. I probably signed up on a Tuesday, forgot and signed up again on a Thursday. I apologize for any confusion.

I too suspect a low battery, an LP furnace blower motor uses up battery amperage surprisingly fast. If you are plugging into 120V power, the battery should read at least 13.4V; if you are not connected, this battery chart will be helpful:
