Noob from S.A. counting down time to start USA RV life!

Greetings Folk, we are bushaholics from sunny South Africa. Looking to give up the drudgery of work and sell up here and spend a couple of years of RV life Stateside.
Spent two weeks in a Class C Leprechaun driving from my namesake (yes, my real name is Denver) to NY, NY and loved it.
Leaning towards a Toy Hauler, favoring the Keystone Raptor 429, to be towed behind a GMC Sierra HD or Dodge Ram HD.
At present we have a bush camper. Ford Ranger 3.2D with the BunduTec Roof Top Tent etc. This gets us out at least once a month to get into the bush, which luckily enough isn't a far travel in our country.

Hi and welcome to the forum. You say you want to spend a couple of years in the US. Please be advised that unless you get a us green card or become a us resident, you will only be allowed 6 months at a time in the US with a tourist visa. You could extend a visit by an additional 6 months, but it's not guaranteed, and the process is long winded. Take a look at the visitors to the US section of the forum for some really useful experiences.

That also needs to be carefully planned. The I94 that is registered when you enter the US actually requires the visitor to leave North America, including Canada and Mexico, to be reset. That's according to the USCIS website. You might be able to re-enter after a decent period in Canada, around 4 to 5 months, but it will depend completely on the border official. That's what we were told by the CBP officer that we met when we entered back in November, who was extremely understanding and helpful.
