Norcold N10DCX Refrigerator Won’t Turn On

Hello, I have a Norcold N10DCX Fridge in my Keystone/ Cougar Camper. It won’t turn on. I’ve checked All of the Fuses, Redid the Main Power Connections on the top of the Fridge. Pulled it out and throughly cleaned the whole thing behind it, in it etc. When I remove a fuse then put it back in the control panel Beeps and LEDs light up for a split second. Then push the power button and nothing happens. Does Anyone have an idea of what I should do ?

I would start by downloading a copy of the Norcold Service Manual and consult it. Starting on page 8 there is a series of diagnostics. You will need to make up an LED test light to use the power module test procedure but starting on page 11 is a flow chart that doesn't require it.

Are you working on it or will you take it to an RV shop? if working on it, have you used any of the diagnostics from the manual yet?

UPDATE: Compressor is broken, NORCOLD manufacturer out of business as of last Friday per repair tech. Getting new fridge installed to allow us to begin our trip today hopefully. Learned a good lesson on planning long trip with little room for repair time.

UPDATE: Compressor is broken, NORCOLD manufacturer out of business as of last Friday per repair tech. Getting new fridge installed to allow us to begin our trip today hopefully. Learned a good lesson on planning long trip with little room for repair time.

I don't have much confidence in that Camping World diagnosis and most parts for Norcolds are still available, at least for awhile (see the article that RayIN provided). Selling you a whole new fridge is both easier and more profitable for CW and it's quite common for them to simply declare the fridge unrepairable and requires replacement. But at least your vacation plans won't be disrupted.

Gary, I missed the Norcold window for the defect. Since mine is a 1999 model W/the ARP unit installed, I'll run it until it won't, then replace with a new unit of a different brand of whichever is still standing at the time.

I have so little confidence in CW, but this was covered by warranty as our rig is only 1 year in use. We’ve had lots of warranty claims on a new RV that its new nickname is Franken-Vee

Unless it has changed, CW pays the service technicians a commission on parts and appliances to encourage them to use as many as possible. As one who made a career in service work, I consider that to be completely unethical.

Should be interesting to see how that works out. It is time we had some new companies in the RV appliance business.

This seems larger inside and I love the dual latch between freezer and fridge that secures both compartments for bumpy roads and keeps little ones out until they’re tall enough to figure it out.

Just FYI, the doors seem so have a problem staying closed on bumpy roads. Not an issue with our prior fridge. Not happy with this problem and I am open to ideas to correct it. I’ve redistributed the contents, added containers to hold smaller items, limited weight on the door, etc. No change.

You may need to investigate bungee cords or some such to tie door handles (if you have any) together, or something similar. Or perhaps there is a way to attach some sort of latch to the doors.
