We are on our third camper....

We are from Southwest Louisiana, Lake Charles.... We started with a 2008 Explorer S190 and we had it 12 years until a Hurricane took it. We replace with a 2018 Hiker Highway Edition, 4'x8'. (impulse buy, but we used it for a few years. Colorado, Louisiana and Tennessee.

This weekend, we went to buy a Sunray Sport 109 and realized it wasn't any bigger really than the Hiker.

We ended up buying this small camper. The hiker was a mattress in a box, essentially. No cooking or bathroom.

This has everything for the two of us and we love it. Haven't used it yet, but will very soon.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

It's always good to have another experienced voice to add to the mix.

Jump into the conversations any time, and let us know if you need help with anything.

Happy travels.

So you bought the 13MJ (going by the lack of a window aft of the door). Nice floor plan.

Having something you can stand up in, get out of the weather in, prepare food in (even if you are cooking on a grill or griddle outside) is a game changer.

Good water tank capacities at 26fresh/28gray/33black also is good. 3700 lb GVWR will make for easy towing with just about anything

I April I tagged along with my buddy to Lake Charles. He is an airline inspector (I'm retired from same airline) they had aircraft being modified there and rotate inspectors every week. He decided to take the camper and asked me to tag along. We stayed at Holbrook Park, north of town, in two of the four spaces down by the river. It was nice except that about sundown the skeeters came out for about an hour. His wife and dog were with him, I mostly stayed at the park. We'd go for walks around the park. I went and met him for lunch a couple of days, he really wants to go back because of the sandwiches at Darrell's.

Congrats on your camper selection. While not the glamping 40 ft 5th wheel, you have a really nice functional TT. We opted for a similar type with everything we need to get along and couldn't be happier.
Ours is an aspen trail 1900RB and we couldn't be more satisfied.
Your comment about not having to climb over each other to get out of bed, is exactly the thing that clinched the deal for us, in selecting our TT.
We have many happy memories of traveling around and camping in a conversion van, that I outfitted many years ago.
We spent a couple of years living in LaPlace La. while our boys were toddlers and really didn't start to use it for camping again until they got to a point where they could get around better by themselves.

Louisiana is truly a sportsman's paradise and I can really appreciate the benefits of choosing a conservatively sized TT.
Best of luck with your new camper and many happy travels.

Just make sure to leave a few wild crawfish for me to catch the next time I make it down that way.

Safe travels and all the best.;)

Hi JW. Nice camper offering all the amenities needed to enjoy the outdoors staying comfy and dry.
Check-in with your stories of adventures and travels from time to time.

I have been out to Holbrook Park, its quiet. And yes, I have had Darrell's subs many times. Great food. We live in Westlake just adjacent to Lake Charles. My home is about 3 miles from Sam Houston Jones State Park on the West Fork of the Calcasieu River....
