Now this one has a story behind it;
Last year, (10 months ago), I got this idea about using some of my give away money that I inherited from my mother to help a needy couple in Q.
I thought that the fellow, who was a certified welder could get on his feet with some help.
I took them to the RV dealership up on the corner and financed a Travel Trailer, (actually a toy hauler with living quarters).
After 7 months in our driveway, (they hid out in the trailer for the last 5 months), they left without a word in the night.
It was a mistake and I am mostly disappointed that they did not help themselves.
In addition to the trailer, I lost about $25,000 by buying them all sorts of things, remodeling their Class C into a work truck. Buying them a pickup, welders ,generator. and all sorts of tools and living expenses to help them get into business.
The trailer cost a little over $30,000 for a 2022 Forest River XLR toy hauler.
I also added a good mattress and two recliners.
After the down payment and nine mounts of payments the payoff balance is about $25,000.
I would like to just sell it for the payoff, but I will consider helping someone I know or someone that really needs it to pay it off.
I also thought that this might be a help to someone with a family or family member in the hurricane area that is living out of their car or tent.
