Member Title: The tool you may need.
A member shared a detailed account of how an offset extension wrench transformed their approach to RV repairs, saving them $1,688 on a power steering pump replacement that a mobile mechanic quoted at nearly $2,000 due to difficult bolt access. After struggling for hours, a fellow camper introduced them to the specialized tool, which allowed the job to be completed in just over an hour. The story resonated with many RVers who have faced similar challenges with hard-to-reach fasteners...

But did you read some of the other posts he started, such as this one ?

So I belong to many RV sites just like a lot of other people here when I see a good idea I post it. I don’t see a problem with it I’m not affiliated with anybody just a happy RV trying to help out..sheesh!

I do agree the root post reads like a lot of advertising I see and mostly ingore
But the device does look useful if you need it.
If you don't.. It's not

I have paid way too many hours of labor for a job that would have taken me minutes. (But then I look at things differently from what many do... Trained to look "Around" as it were.

FWIW this same story was posted Feb 5th (with a Jan 12th original date) on a facebook page owned by a "digital creator" named Andrew Williams, with the original author named Miles Turner. @4winds4me can you throw some insight into this, are you representing the Wildbear product for profit? Not to say I don't believe it's genuine but there is reason for some skepticism here.

Nope, not representing anyone. Just thought it was a good tool to have in your toolbox.🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Of course the tool most all RVers need is an "Slip joint pliers" type Oil filter wrench.

I know Camco and others make "Sewer hose" wrenches or tools to help tighten or loosen the hose fittings.. they are ... what travels inside those hoses.. But that oil filter wrench is perfect for the job.
They come in assorted handle lengths not sure that matters it's the jaws that do the job.

Not so much a good read, reminds me so much of so many reads on FB recently, which are supposedly first person accounts ad copy. It looks like a good idea, something I had never seen before, but there are many other options for the same tool for half the price. I can think of a recent task on my PT Cruiser that it may have worked for.

My questions is, have you bought and used one?

What oil filter wrench works on one engine often will not work on another, even if the two use the same filter. Because of that, I have many different styles as I own many different ICE vehicles.

It's common to not have the necessary room for the slip joint pliers. Sometimes only the over the top type will work.

It is NOT genuine, it's a rip-off link, that is the reason for my skepticism. See my message number 8.

But I cannot say it was deliberate from the OP. But the long message makes me believe it was a copy and paste from somewhere.

If you look closely at the ones on Amazon there are several distinct variations on these, though many are direct copies in different colors

Well, when someone here actually has one, we'd love to see a review. Until then, I remain skeptical.

Walmart is selling them, through shipping, but the prices are around 20 bucks.
I have some tools that are somewhat similar in purpose, such as Pass Through Socket Sets. They are rarely used, but extremely handy when a normal socket wrench will not fit.

I expect the offset extension wrench to be the same--only rarely needed, but one time needed will justify it, IMO.

I look forward to the time when I will be able to say, "I've got just the thing for that."

Porter was preparing to chang flat using the jack the car maker provides..

I told him almost exactly that as I parked and got out my hydraulic floor jack (Like they use at the shop) and the special extend-a-ratchet wrench (ike 3 foot long extended) to with the proper size socket... Now days I have a 12 volt impact as well.

Just what he needed.. Since he's getting paid and a lot younger, I let him change the tire.
