"I only use brand X oil filters, 'cause a guy who writes articles on the internet says they're the best". "..... "I just can't figure out how he gets paid though, he must do it only because he cares".
Not everyone bases their entire purchasing decision on what other people say and there are still people out there who care about the quality and integrity of their work, even if that doesnt make the news.

I have been using Mobil 1 and Motor Craft filters on our Ford F53 chassis since new. I change the oil every 5000 miles and now have 134,000 miles on the engine and it burns no oil between changes.

I ignore mileage and change the oil every year in each of my motorhomes. I also use the MotoCraft oil filters in my F53, the FL-820-S. I also use the Ford Motorcraft Synthetic Blend oil that the manual recommends (can buy it at Autozone). Eight quarts of this stuff:

I use whatever that filter guide at Walmart says is for my V10 and will spin on that jim-jammi on the engine block.

I used NAPA filters for years. They would do half off sales once a year and I would stock up. NAPA has recently switched suppliers and WIX is no longer manufacturing the filters for NAPA, someone else, not sure who and not a big name, probably foreign.

I now buy WIX from O'Reilly's. Purolator makes a good filter and I used them on some of my vehicles for quite a while also. If you cut any filter open and find a string wrapped around the element and tied, it is a Purolator. I think the Motorcraft filters are made by Purolator.

Many of the oil company branded filters and some store brands, are made by a company called Champion Filter, no relation to the spark plug folks. These are actually a decent filter.
