There shouldn't be any pressure there so unless it tore or was deformed I'd run it again. But I'm a cheap arse.

Well, I am not that cheap, but after I looked at the gasket I decided I could have done my valve clearances while at Gunshot Wash, AZ & just reuse the same old gasket--but I would still order new ones.
If there were no trace of any leaks with the old gasket, I probably would have left it in and never bother with putting in the new ones. But I never removed the cover when at GSW. But now I wish I had completed the job while there. But I do not like to work on things while they are needed and working well. As the genny did while at GSW.
I am back in Reno because my new Onan Carb will be delivered here today. FWIW, I have a spare Chinese carb and I just took a good look at it. I mentioned before that it had a 10,000 ft label but would stop at 5K'. Well, I discovered the label was put on incorrectly on each of my Chinese carbs. The minimum adjustment was way below zero by the label. I was able to remove the label and align it correctly so now it says it will adjust from 0 to 10,000'.
But this had nothing to do with my high elevation problem with my genny at 7K feet while in Flagstaff. It ran way too rich even when adjusted for the max possible elevation of 10K'. But it works very well at lower elevations regardless of what elevation it is set for.
I will soon see if the Onan Carb helps when at 7K'. But also my valve clearances will be adjusted by then. I have not checked yet to see how far off it is, I will do that the next time I am in Auburn, which should be in just a few days.
