Onan Generator Question

I have a 2015 Thor Vegas Class A RV.  It has an Onan Generator.  It has a Prime/Stop button for starting and shutting down.  When shutting down, you push the Prime/ Stop button and I assume it floods the carburetor to shut down.  This results in gas fumes in the coach for a while after shut down.  My question, is there another way to shut it down without using the Prime/Stop button?

I doubt very much that it floods the carburetor to shut down. The usual method may be to ground the spark plug or simply inhibit the ignition function to do this.

That would seem odd to me that it would flood the carb to shut down, but the Prime/Stop button is what you push for shut down and gas fumes are evident afterward.  Not sure why they don't just have a stop switch/button.

Thanks!
