Members widely report using air fryers in their RVs, with many considering them essential for quick, crispy meals when grilling or using a full oven isn’t practical. Popular models include Cosori, Gourmia, and Ninja, with some opting for compact versions to save space. Air fryers are praised for their versatility—handling everything from fries and chicken to salmon, pizza, and even baking small batches of biscuits or cakes. However, several RVers note that while air fryers can mimic... More...
I am learning to bake in my air fryer. So far, a little dutch baby pancake thing, the usual fries and totoes and onion rings and fish sticks. I just did a couple of biscuits. It's just hubby and me so I don't want to make too much at once, just a couple bisquick things, 1 each, no leftovers. That was what I was looking for something small something that would bake/cook just enough for 2. I still use the microwave and the single burner but now I am working on learning this tool too. Oh yea D-I-L gave this one to me and it is the tiniest air fryer ever! At most it can hold 4 fish sticks if they are small but it is just right for the van.

I originally had a "Turbo" oven. this is basicallly what is now called an air fryer but a bit larger and expandable (youc an cook a turkey in it)

That got "lost" (long story) I can get another today should I wish Liked it did some pies and other things in it. (full 9" pie)
Next was a basket type but I used it only on rare occasions and needed the space.

I use a "Toaster oven" (Well it's a bit bigger and can hold a 9" pie) as my primary oven and when it started to have issues I got an Emeral 360 multi cooker
Yes it will toast
And it will Oven (Full size pie or loaf pan but won't 13x9 i think 11x12 or about is the limit)

It "Air fries" but not a good as the basket type Still good however

And it claims it can "Slow cook" but the Insta-pot is better at that
Though my old West bend was better still before it died of old age.

Living along I do not use the "Big" oven lessen I absolute have to (Except for storage)

Well opinions…. I bought an air fryer, was not a fan. Might have been too small. plus you had to take the bin out halfway and jumble them about. then it took a couple minutes to come back to temp. Guessing in the interim they have improved. Now a deep fryer in an RV! Yes. But it is just the fry baby, but I can cook faster and get better results.

Just took ownership of 2025 Cherokee TT that has a Microwave/AirFrier combo.... rather than a real oven. At first I was pissed a real oven is no longer an option, but I have been told I will love the AirFrier. We shall see.... but I love crispy food.

We had two motorhomes with a microwave/convection oven combo, and they were great, at least for us. We baked biscuits, pineapple upside down cake and much more in those with great results. The cooking time was, of course, less than using a regular oven, and our last coach had no propane on board - electric all the way - and it worked well for us.

but what can you do with an air fryer that you cannot do with a microwave or regular stove and cooktop?
Old message, but I had to reply after just finding these in my freezer. Read the heating instructions for heating these.

Nothing about using a stovetop or MW oven.

Conventional, Toaster Oven or Air Frier."

I never saw one. I've been looking to put an air fryer under the microwave . But is the one you have big enough for a Degorno pizza, um 13in I think. I've seen air fryers to hold one, not as big as you would mind think when in person.

Going back to the first post, the OP's original post ...

I think air friers compared to deep friers (that use oil and grease) is like fixing pop-corn in an air popper vs. popcorn over the stove in a pop-corn popper with real butter as the oil. ... the air frier will work and work OK, but there's nothing compared to cooking with oil! The taste is light years apart! I'm 70 years old and my arteries haven't clogged up (yet), I'll stick with the oil.

Yes, you CAN travel with a deep frier. When done with the fryer, pour the oil back into a storage bottle with a cap. Wash out the deep frier, and save the oil for the next use. In the end, the payoff is either convenience or taste. Take your pick. Which is more important to you?
