Forgot to mention, in my visit to the Buc-ees in Auburn Alabama, which opened early this year, the restroom entrance I was complaining about is about 6 ft 6 inches wide based on the 24 inch square floor tiles on the floor. I could stand in the middle and almost touch the walls on both sides of the entrance corridor. This is their biggest mistake in the building design, to force every single person thru a short corridor six foot wide to get to the restrooms.

Oh, and they have long soda fountains you can fill cups from, in addition to coolers with bottled and can drinks. But the fountains have Buc-ees branded sodas, and yes, its kinda like buying a diet cola from Kroger, it just isn't the same as a Coke or a Pepsi. If you bring in a Yeti cup or similar and fill it, they charge you the refill price (which is a fairly common convenience store practice)

The Buc-ees here ( which should be no different from anywhere else) have both their house brand and Coke brand, they're just not at the same dispenser.

All these people complaining about a retail establishment that has used a tried and true sales and marketing practice (school of Walmart) and is incredibly successful.
If you don’t like Buc-ees, don’t spend any money there.
As for me, I will gladly stop to fill up, then park and used the restroom and possibly get a snack.
I’ve never eaten anything from Buc-ees, so I have no idea if their food is any good. Maybe I’ll buy enough stuff for the two of us to relax in the ample parking lot and eat lunch.
Buc-ees is no different from any other American purveyor of food to the teeming masses, any combination of grease, salt and sugar and you can't go wrong. I'm particularly fond of their 15,000 calorie breakfast burritos. On the way back from Houston the other day I selected the 87 octane pulled pork sandwich which came with a coupon for a 5% Amazon discount on a defibrillator.

One thing I appreciate about the large places is they usually have a deli island. I tend to choose really bad road trip food when not given a choice.

Buc-ees, WaWa & BusyBee have healthy options like fruit cups, crackers, cheese & deli meats and if it's lunch time I will often buy a turkey, ham or Tuna sandwich if they look fresh.

Yes, they have several food islands, one is the BBQ, chips and such, one is deli, one is made on site snacks, etc.

About fuel prices, last week I had a crown come loose so I scheduled for my dentist in Columbus GA to cement it back, and also for a cleaning. I took the RAM again, its about an hour ride, and a couple of blocks from the dentist, I noticed a BP station that was $3.79 on Diesel, very cheap (everyone else was $3.95 or $3.97) So I spent $50 and topped the tank.

REMEMBER. BP HAS GREEN NOZZLES FOR GASOLINE, AND BLACK FOR DIESEL, backwards to everyone else. Out of habit I picked the green nozzle but it would not turn on when I pressed the diesel button, finally realized my mistake, put it back, got the correct hose and begin pumping diesel. (smelled it to be sure).

Some Buc-ees have actual made to order food items, as well as the made on site, wrapped and put under heat lamp items, like the BBQ, Burritos, tacos, etc. Made to order options include such things a Pastrami Ruben sandwich, the Signature Club sandwich or the Turkey / Ham melts, as well as chicken strips, hot dogs, etc.

Is that Pastrami REAL Pastrami?

We don't have them out West. Nor do we have Caseys. Or Kum N Go's. When I was in the Midwest, I learned gas/convenience stores are "a thing" and people are loyal to certain brands.

I'll stop at a Maverick here in the West just for one of their breakfast burritos but that's as far as my allegiance to a convenience mart goes ;)
There's a Kum n Go or 2 in Rock Springs Wyoming

For their "clean outhouses". That's front and center in their advertising campaign to get you into their novelty shop. Outside of the grand opening their gas prices are not much cheaper than their competitors down the interstate. But you can gas and go faster than those vehicles sitting at the EV chargers . Two weeks ago I saw folks sitting in a Tesla when we stopped and went in and when I came out about twenty minutes later, they were still there.
Yah. That’s about right. A typical supercharge stop is 15 to 20 minutes for most of us. Works out about right at a place like bucees as that’s how long it takes to get everything done. Bathroom, pee. Coffee maybe a snack.

Funny how the more things change the more they stay the same. Seems to me if you don't want an EV or a Vaccine, just don't get one, who cares?

I think you are missing the point, as usual, when the discussions of EVs comes up. People are at liberty to buy and use what they wish, which is on the forced decline. Of course EV owners are fine with the growing restrictions by edict.

But virtual signalling still does not deal with the fact as you own purely an EV, across the entire nation in the U.S. you are limited with charging stations as you travel , especially fast charging stations. The CEO of Ford learned this as he attempted to travel with his own EV.

And frankly EV owners are not paying their part for the roads and in many cases the electricity being used either as they are driving on as they thump their chests.

I think you meant this for someone else. All I was doing was confirming your observation of a 15 to 20 minute supercharge stop and that it was about normal for us.

Sounds like you were also there for 20 minutes.

We haven’t experienced any limitations on travelling with our Tesla. I can see why the ford guy did though. Whole different network they have to deal with. I’m thinking that’s why he made an agreement with tesla to use the NACS connector and get access to the tesla network.

Cheers.

That’s fine but then they spread virus around to people we care about. Though apparently one can’t mandate someone to be smart…
I think in the end they'll do like Ayn Rand did in the 60's. She made a big deal and a lot of money campaigning the notion that Medicare is communism, then when she needed lung surgery due to her chain smoking addiction, had medicare pay for it, admitting herself to the hospital under her husbands name.
