Hi all! On the chance that someone here has been to the PA Wilds in Benezette/Driftwood...

We're interested in going up Mason Hill Road out of Driftwood up to the "Bucktail Overlook", aka "Top of the World Overlook".

I'm seeing references online to it being a "rough road", but not coming up with any specifics. No Google Street view and no luck in forum searches.

Is anyone able to comment on the nature of this road? Passable via a RWD truck? Anything unique/exotic/difficult about the road?

Thanks! :)

Not been up that road in 20+ years.
Suggest you contact the Elk State Forest Office in Emporium. They should be able to give you the info you need. Suspect you will be OK in 2WD PU, but it may depend n weather conditions and local logging activity.

Thank you, wndopdlr! Great suggestion...will do. Arch: In PA...the north central "PA Wilds" part with elk (which is unique for PA) Thanks!
