Parking and Walking into Naco, Mexico: Tips and Local Eats

I rode around the Naco today. Is there a place to park and walk into Naco, Mexico?

Anyway, as I was riding around, I took some photos of Ft. Naco. The city of Naco got a couple of million bucks to fix the place up and they are now working on it. I was able to get past the opened gate by a few yards because it was open for the workers.

The place is now fenced off because of vandalism, there will probably never be open to the public again, only can view through the fence.

Thanks, I saw that place by the old closed down Port of Entry. I didn't think about parking there and walking into Mexico.

When did they close the old Port of Entry into Mexico?

Yeah, sure was. The first time I was there near the bar, I didn't realize I could walk in where the "one way" sign is. In the wrong direction, of course. I didn't realize the old Port of Entry was so close to the new one because last time I did not walk, I rode over there which is quite a bit longer.

But I didn't eat at the Sushi place. I had some great tacos in a restaurant about another mile south. The place shown below, meal shown too. But it was four tacos and I already ate one before the photo of the three left.

They give chips and all the sauces shown below.

With a soft drink, 160 pesos (9.80). I gave a tip for a total of 200 pesos ($11.35) even.

BTW, no line of cars goin into Mexico at Naco, but a very long line to get back into the USA. Not quite as bad as trying to get back into Douglas, as I could see the end of the line in Naco.

There is no such thing...anywhere. I prefer my fish blackened...with plenty of garlic and butter.
