So I'm learning to use my new Nexus 7 android tablet.

I read the thread on Lastpass and installed it.  Works great on pc but shakey on tablet.

Worked for MyYahoo (changed pw on pc, tablet can access).  Doesn't work for PedFed -changed pw on pc, tablet can't access.

Am I missing something?  Is there a better alternative?

Joel

I use LastPass on Firefox, Chrome, IE, all on Windows 7, also on Android on my Nexus 7 and Droid Bionic, and it can log me into any site that I've stored credentials for, even PenFed.  On Android, you use the LastPass browser as it isn't integrated with the others, but it does work.  Any information you store in LastPass on one device can be seen on any other as it's all stored, encrypted of course, on the LastPass server.  There is an option to store a copy of the database locally too, if desired.  What exactly do you mean by "tablet can't access" for PenFed?

I won't recommend any other alternative as none are as secure, or work as well, as LastPass.

That works!  I logged in using Lastpass.  So that's the secret (using LastPass instead of the browser to Access)

Thanks Ned!

Now I need to update mint.  Is there a way on the tablet to see the current password so I can copy it?

Joel

In LastPass, you can long press an entry and select Edit from the menu.  Then you can Show the password.  From the same menu, you can copy the password to the clipboard for pasting elsewhere.

We aim to please :)

Long press in Android is much like right mouse click in Windows.

Once set up, yes.  I'm pulling hair on changing passwords. Guess I'll have to take a day off and read the fine manual.

Maybe one manual a day.

When you change a password, Lastpass detects it and prompts you to save the new password.

I have been using Password Agent for years and dread the switchover.

LastPass can import your data from Password Agent.

I don't use a password tool that auto fills on my portable devices. If I lost it, whoever found it would have access to all my accounts.

Even if the data is password protected?

Unless you can memorize all of your passwords and other login credentials, and never store them on the device, loss of a device means everything is exposed anyway.  Physical possession of any device means it's fully compromised.  That's why there are remote wiping tools available for smartphones and tablets.

That's why I use a standalone USB stick to store my passwords in a password-protected database. Thanks to Terry Brewer for the suggestion a few years ago. Doesn't help with SmartPhones, although they do offer a mobile version that is also password protected; I don't store the database on any of our phones. I can also use the stick with my Samsung Galaxy tablet.
