Hello. I have a 2001 Jayco eagle Class C mini motor home. I'm preparing it for the road and checking systems. My kitchen faucet is making noises under the cabinet. I took video but can't seem to post it here. One of the water hoses is clanking. The water is running but it's kinda pulsing. Under the counter I can see the hose moving and pulsing. Weird. Another clue is that the sink sprayer (separate from the faucet) is leaking on the top of the counter when I run the faucet. It seems like too much pressure is forcing the water up and onto the counter.
Thanks in advance for your help. If there's a way to share a video, pls let me know. Thanks.

Are you running the water off the on board water pump.
As far as the sprayer, make sure the fitting, that is on the end of the hose, is tight to the nozzle

Check that the hose under the sink isn’t crimping and the valves are fully open.

Here's an addition to my earlier post.
It seems the issue might be in the faucet. Water is coming in. It seems to be diverting itself into the sprayer, not allowing the water to flow freely into the faucet. This appears to be the cause of the clanging noise (and I can see the puppies underneath moving). I think that is also the cause of the sprayer leaking. It's not at the hose connection but is forcing it's way up through the sprayer handle.
I appreciate all comments.
Do I need to try to fix or replace?
I know my Jayco but I do not know plumbing.

TIA

That does sound like a faucet problem. In normal operation a faucet with a sink sprayer does not send water to the sprayer until you push the lever on the sprayer. Depending on what faucet and sprayer you have, it could be as simple as replacing a cartridge in the faucet or it could also mean a new faucet. Most single lever faucets use a cartridge.

The chattering is probably the spray valve opening and closing.

Thanks, Kirk... that's where my Google search is leading me. I'm going to try the cartridge first.
I'll post results on my latest 'adventure'. 😅

Great diagram!!

I think maybe "send" in this statement is a poor choice of words. There is always water present and under pressure at the sprayer whenever the main faucet is turned ON. Only the on/off lever at the sprayer stops it from spraying out. A leak of any sort in the sprayer or its feeder hose will spew water when the main faucet handle/lever is turned on.
Notice in Kirk's diagram that the water feed to the sprayer is controlled only by the main faucet cartridge/valve.

In addition, note that replacement sprayers are readily available in most hardware and big box stores. Or from Amazon if you want delivery.

UPDATE: I changed our the cartridge. Problem still there. I have unplugged the side sprayer hose and replugged it. Problem still there (though my wallet is $25 lighter) 😊
I spoke with a plumber. After much testing we think the problem is in the side sprayer itself. I'll replace that tomorrow and post an update.
thanks

I wonder if the faucet aerator is plugged with hard water deposits enough to cause other problems? Can't hurt to remove the aerator and soak in vinegar overnight to see if that is a problem.
If the pump is building enough pressure that it briefly turns off/on, that will cause "pulsing".
Gary and I agree, the hand sprayer is always pressurized, when the lever is held in it sprays water while faucet flow is practically stopped, any other leaking water is a problem.

I think that you are on the right track. Since it is the opening of the spray nozzle that triggers the diverter, a leaking nozzle valve could cause the problem.

Final Update: Problem solved! It started with clanging 'pipes'. Water was spurting from the faucet and leaking from the side sprayer. I changed the cartridge. Still not good. I changed our the side sprayer and all is good.
In the process I had to cut the nylon hose going to the sprayer. At Amazon I found a side sprayer with many adapters, attached the nylon hose to the new one and it's good to go! I'll attach a pic of the product. I feel it's a good work around.
BTW- also fixed the water heater today. It was the second time on this problem and I had the part. Winning! haha!
