I learned today there is a thread on the forum that describes where everyone is meeting in Indio to caravan the rest of the way to Pamona.? the Admiral and I are planning our travel itinerary, which is to Tucson, then Algadones, then on to Pamona.? we would like to find that rendezvous point.? can anyone direct us to the proper thread?

Try searching Smoky, which is what I'd need to do to find the topic for you.

For some reason, every time I search, I get a blank page.  I have had this problem every since I joined the forum.  I would really appreciate it if those in the thread would pop up and give me the title.  Thanks.

BTW Smoky, check the spelling if you want the search to find it. Ron has it right.

Smoky,

Do you have some browser setting that might be running interference. Search works just fine for me. Here's the resulting topic.

Ack Tom.  A Monaco rally is not the thread I am looking for.  I think Jeff is going to send me an email on it so I will wait for that.  What settings do you want me to check.? I do not think it is a browser problem.  In 2 years the search has not worked for me.

Smoky,

If you read the entire topic I gave you the link for, you'd see several messages relating to a gathering point for the Pomona rally.

BTW you're the only one reporting an issue with the search function. Does that give you a clue?

No clue here Tom.  This came up a year ago and we spent weeks trying to troubleshoot it.  I finally gave up.  I am sure it has something to do on this end, but I have tried everything.  Even foxfire.  No big deal, I have learned to live without the search function.

Just a quick glance at the link Tom provided I found the following comment from Russ there are probably more.

Brewers and I will overnight at casino at Indio Friday night and caravan in on Sat AM.

The forum has been open just about one year this week. If you had problems with search prior to that I suggest you report them here.

Yes, there are more Ron, which is why I pointed Smoky to that topic. Guess he doesn't want to read beyond the subject line.

Smoky:

Smoky, I am pretty sure those going are planning on meeting at the Spotlight 29 Casino, south of I-10 off of  Dillon Road Friday evening. Don't see the exit number but it is the exit just east of the intersection of I-10 with route 86 east of Indio.

I'm sure Russ or Terry  will correct me if I am wrong.  ::) ::)

That's the intersection Jeff, if they're meeting at Spotlight 29. Here's the link to the map and Here's the link to their web site.

Not Pamona.  It's Pomona.

Sorry about the spelling Phil.  Never won any bees in school.  ;D  This is our first time ever there, so I am sure I will learn to spell it by the time the rally is over.  In fact this will be our first International rally ever.  I am sure we have many new things to learn in the coming weeks.  I will feel it is a big success if we just find the way!  ;D

Thanks Jeff for that info.  I have not had time to go back and look at the thread I was referred to, but I have some time this evening so it is next on my list.  Tom was correct.  I saw the title and the first few lines and thought it was the wrong one.  My search does not work on this forum, and I was hoping someone would simply post the time and place which you did, and I thank you.  Now I am off to find those messages Tom was talking about.

Tom:

Well I did finally read carefully through that thread and did not find what I was looking for, which is why I originally posted this thread.  I saw a reference to "Indio Casino" but I have no idea where and what that is.  After a careful re-reading, I could find no more detailed description.  Likely Indio Casino is a place that has meaning for the oldtimers who know that area, but Jeff's answer is the kind of info us newbies needed.  Please accept my apologies for my lack of knowledge of that area.

Smoky, FWIW re-reading of the first message in this topic shows that I really did provide the answer to the question asked:

can anyone direct us to the proper thread?

The topic I linked to gave the meeting place, albeit as Indio Casino, and the time (Friday evening for departure on Saturday morning). Having been to Indio only once, I honestly don't know if there are other casinos there and I must admit that I wouldn't have known about Spotlight 29 (the "Indio Casino" folks are referring to) had we not stayed there recently. I'm almost as much of a newbie as you, since this will be our first FMCA rally also.

If you read this message, you'd see that, after I realized you had no idea where it was, I came back with a map location and a web site. Sorry that wasn't sufficient.

BTW to avoind confusion, be aware that the Spotlight 29 casino is actually in Coachella - see this message.
