I checked this place out today by talking to a couple who is staying there for a night

This is the only RV park I have seen that is self-serve, put $30.00 (cash Only) in a lockbox to stay a night. All seven sites are drive-through and full hookup, 50-amp with no management on site, and they can be very large vehicles. If I need to dump, get water, etc., I could consider staying here for a night. It rarely, if ever, fills up.

Austin is turning into a ghost town fast, The current population is 64 people. Tom & I were here in the 1980's when the place was packed with people and business. Now it looks like at least 50% of the businesses are closed for good.

Also in the middle of the state of Nevada.

Nobody else where I am. All alone 14 miles to the south of Austin, NV in the Toiyabe National Forest.

We've driven through Austin and Eureka a few times while going from Ely to Reno or vise versa.
Good to know there is an RV park there if needed.

There are two RV parks in Austin. The other is this one.

I am now staying for one night at the Pony Express RV Park. Extreme east side of Austin, NV. There are two 5th Wheels in the east section and one other motorhome in this section at the opposite end. All of those I think are staying here long term.

No tents allowed in this RV Park.

My rig here:

For one night, put $30.00 in this lockbox. Must be cash. They supply the evevlopes.

Or $50.00 for two nights. Or $180.00 ($25.71 per night) for a week.

Or just use their dump and get water and dump garbage for ten bucks.

If you need to do laundry, its the opposite side of town, the very last building west:

Today, I walked from this RV Park on the extreme east end of Austin to the extreme west end that has the gas station and the laundry place. About a mile downhill to the western part, which means uphill coming back.

I saw a lot of things I never noticed before by walking, compared to when I rode my motorcycle through here last month.

The far western side of this town is where the gas station and laundry place is located.

Not even one restaurant here there days. None of them survived the 2020 Covid.

This restaurant gave me strong memories, as I clearly remember when Tom and I had lunch here in the 1980s when the place was packed:

There is another RV park, just a few yards west of thos one on the opposite side of the street. Much larger and a lot more packed. I think these are mostly people who pay for the month:

I like this little RV park I am staying at MUCH better than the one above.

I should be back in Reno tomorrow for a short stop and then on to Auburn, CA.
