My wife and I full-time RV and do not own a permanent residence. We receive our mail through a personal mailbox at a UPS facility.
We were recently told that due to new USPS rules, we would need to complete the postal form 1583 as well as provide 2 forms of ID with our "residential address " listed. Our driver's licenses have our legal address listed which is the UPS store where our personal mailbox is located. We do not own a permanent residence and are trying to comply. Is anyone else dealing with this issue? If so, how are you complying with this new rule?

We have a UPS store PMB and had to fill ours out a few weeks ago, sent in copies of drivers licenses and our passport cards. We also fulltime and don't own property.
We also have a PMB in another state which is our domicile address and the UPS store said that address was fine, I would call the store with questions and see what they say.

We used a mail forwarding service who established a legal address for us. The rules on those change frequently because officials and laws prefer that people have a physical mailing address.

The benefit of using a mail forwarding service are they help you with things like vehicle registration, insurance, voting, etc

We called today. Having our DL with the PMB is not acceptable. If we had a passport we would be fine. Do not have passport. Thanks for chiming in. Hoping for more feedback. Especially from fellow UPS store PMB users.

We ran into that and needed to find a company that provided a legal mailing address rather than just a pmb. There are several out there but you have to establish residency in the state where they operate. We used americas mailbox in south dakota. They were decent but i dont think any of them is perfect

have
to wonder if America's mailbox and others will be next to deal with same issue.

Probably, we use a mail service out of Emery, SD. Reasonable rates and really easy to work with.

Funny enough a passport would work though. Gotta love beauracracy.

Local UPS store in SC not helpful. Going to post office this week.

For those with America's mailbox or others, how is your address not a business address? Curious is all.

I wonder if they will accept a Real ID card instead of a passport?
You can also have the Real ID on your drivers license.

Americas mailbox gave us a pmb that was also considered a valid residential address. We could have package deliveries from all tge delivery services there. The address was their standard mailing address with the pmb number listed on address line 1. If the pmb number wasnt there your mail could have gotten lost.

Dont know what they had to do on the back end so it was a valid residential address but that is one reason i picked them.

I was able to use that address for ecerything including vehicle registration, voter registration, insurance, etc.

I am snow birding in SC. My PMB is Pa. Just trying to get answers while down here. 7 years ago the UPS store PMB was considered a valid residential address. if they are doing this to me a good chance you are next....still working on options. We are so close to not even needing a post office except for new credit cards, debit cards. We shall keep trying.
