power steps wont retract

with the power switch in the off position,and the steps are out they will retract when closing the screen door,all seams to 
work fine.Then when closing the main door the steps come back out.I have tried cleaning the magnetic switch's on the
screen door but didn't help.Any suggestions?

Is this a new problem?  I'm guessing the main door is somehow moving the screen door magnet away from the reed switch. Get a magnet and test.

Yes,this is a new problem.It started while sitting in the driveway .I will try the magnet test.

Up Date
Found a broken wire at the reed switch.Strange as this switch never moves.
No problem for 7 years and 40 thousand miles.
Repaired and all works well.
