This post may be a little different.

In a month or two I am going to sell my Class C motorhome.

I bought it about 8 months ago, 3 days after my previous RV burnt up.

I proceeded to recreate the old RV in exactly the same make, model and floorplan as I had before.

In addition I added several new modifications and recreated several of the previous modifications.

I recreated and enlarged the solar powered 24/7 AC power system.

I replaced the Jack Knife sofa with a set of theater style recliners.

I installed the chassis upgrades that I had purchased but not installed in the old RV into the new one.

I replaced the mattress with a good one.

If I had known that Renae would get this crazy idea to get a much larger RV and want to go "Live on the Beach". I would have gone straight to the bigger one.

We normally use the Class C only to go to Quartzsite and to go to Minnesota to visit the kids and grandkids in the summer.

Anyway my intent with this post is to describe the RV in a better way than a simple for sale post.

I also want to discuss why I will be removing the expensive and maybe dangerous solar experiment from the RV.

The two phase experiment began as a not very financially smart way to provide 24/7 AC power and air conditioning using solar and a large Lithium battery bank.

This system is not really practical and I do not recommend spending the kind of investment in it that I did. It also has the real possibility of presenting a danger in its current configuration for a possible fire. I had one of those from a different source so I am cautious.

I do not want to worry about any possible danger to whomever gets the RV.

I will be removing the system from the RV prior to selling it.

Here are a couple of pictures. When I actually post in the for sale section I will post several pictures.

I will make someone a very good deal.

Last chance if you want a good deal.

I would rather see a member on here get it.

Tomorrow morning I am delivering it to a RV dealer here in town to sell and I only want the Payoff.

I bought it nine months ago for about $60,000 and added a little more than $10,000 of upgrades.

I also added $15,000 for all the solar power system items, but that has been removed and is not a factor now.

The payoff is about $50,000.

There are more details in the for sale section.

I do not like to deal with the hassle of selling.

Bill what year is the c.
Oops looks like it is gone to the dealer, but I'll ask anyways

Congratulations Bill. So which iron in the fire is the next priority? Getting the house back in ship shape or getting the Tiffin modification done? Not to mention all the other things that need attention!

Bill, I also thought the Quartzsite purchase was a travel trailer. Did not realize it was a toy hauler.

We are selling or giving away everything
Does this also include the house and the Mustang?

You are veteran full timer and returning to that life will be comfortable but I figure you are still figuring out the logistics of home status etc.

Yes, House, Mustang, everything. Sell or give away.

The toy hauler is a TT also.

Might trade the Mustang to the guy that bought the trailer toad and Stacker to get them for traveling.

Any opinios on a 74 year old traveling with a Stacker?

I think you're the only one who's opinion matters. Maybe some others here that know you personally will chime in.

My Dad is 79 and has had his bouts with afib and other cardio related stuff, and has an implanted defibrilator as a precaution. I'd say just over the past 10 yrs he's had to really re-learn his limitations with regard to stamina and working in hot weather. Otherwise, he appears capable of operating his Chevy 3500 low rider dually and 8.5 x 20 cargo trailer with just about anything loaded in it (he's into car club stuff, antique hotrods), as well as knowing when he needs to stop and take a break or ask for help.

Here's my uninformed take from reading all your recent posts: you seem the same, if not more rational than my Dad with such things. I would not second guess your call on what you're considering.

On the other hand, if you were looking at a semi truck with one of those drive-on car racks across the frame, I'd think the precarious and high loading operation might be something you should carefully consider. You OG's don't recover from falls like you used to ;)

Wow that's a big turnaround!

Are you staying on the West coast ?

Bill,

You pulled that stacker for years so you know the pros and cons and the task required to manage travel and parking it at RV parks with a stacker. Thus the question really depends on your health and stamina today. Critically evaluate the tasks and how you would perform them. Think of modification or devices that could simplify task. You are the only qualified person to make this decision.
