I have four of these thingies, one in each RV and another at each house. All full of batteries, many that I can only find on Amazon, such as for the TPMS on some of my motorcycles.

What quote problem?

I was forced to use both quotes. I only wanted the second quote. I cannot remove the first one. Deleting it doesn't work. I complained about it months ago but everyone blamed me.

Just quote the parts you want, not the entire message.

IOW, highlight only the words you wish to quote, do NOT use "quote" under the message, just use the "quote" under the highlighted words. The highlighted will get quoted. Do it as many time as you want to quote a different part of the same message with out the rest.

Each quote comes with a remove button. If that fails, simply put both quotes in and before posting, take the mouse and highlight the one you want gone and hit delete. This is an excellent quoting system.

Yep. There is more than one way to do the same thing. This is probably the best forum SW I have seen anywhere for many reasons.

You could also use the highlighted quote suggested by DonTom for the first quote and then use the cut & paste to add the second part, as I did above.

You have to select the "insert quotes" button at the bottom (next to the "attach files" button.) This will be during the composing of a post.

When you click the "insert quotes" everything you have quoted, that you have not already used, (no matter if you quoted it with the normal "quote messages" button at the bottom right, or if you quoted it withe the red pop up during highlighting) will appear with a "remove" button for each one of them. What you have to watch out for is something you quoted, in that thread or another thread, that you decided to not use. It also will appear, and you will need to remove it if you don't need it.

Clicking the red quote button after highlighting does not make anything visible or apparent happen, it merely saves the quote for later use, just as if you selected the "quote messages" button at the bottom right.

We all like to have one way, and only one way, to do something. That makes it easy to remember and repeat the process, but with computer software, or smart phones, there are multiple ways to do some things

I know many alternate ways to quote from a message. However the remove button does not work. It needs to be fixed.

Reload the page - your browser is pulling an old copy from your cache. I have the same problem on the latest itineration of Facebook when I try to edit a reply.

I have noticed some forums and forum like things hosted on one popular system that occasionally I need to re-load to post..
I do the following
In the edit window
CTRL-A (Edit select all)
CTRL-C (Copy)
Reload
If needed I can then CTRL-A again in the edit window (or tap Discard)
and then CTRL-V (Edit-Paste) the text back in quotes and all.

Yesterday I had to move on to another Social Media platform (Opened a new window) and return some time later while the system figured out it needed to reboot.,

This server is used if I'm not mistaken by this forum. One of the banks I use... And some others.

Alas for reasons I am aware of there is no better server than the one I'm typing about for this type of Forum or my bank at this time.

What are you using Tom? Tablet?
IIRC, he uses a Chromebook, which works much like an Android Tablet. I was wondering if that was some of his problems here too.

But I have used a Chromebook here before, but I do not recall any issues, but perhaps because I did not need any of the functions that are giving Tom problems. But Chromebooks are different. No "delete" key for one thing.

I use a Chromebook. I was able to use the quote function to post the previous post. But when I attempted to post more into the forum and it would not let me.
For clarification, I merged the two messages above (one with Tom S's quote and the other with Tom S's reply). Can't recall the last time I used that function, but was curious if it still worked; It does, just fine - just had to click the right buttons.
