Quartzsite 2025 non-organized rally 18-26 January 2025

The friendliest place on the web for anyone with an RV or an interest in RVing!
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
What kind of soil is that?

Are those rocks mapping out the site boundary?

Those rocks were here before 2024. Sometimes people get real protective of their sites and ring them with rocks to discourage close neighbors. Obviously someone in 2023 or earlier was one of those types. Pretty much against the rules, but there is still room for all. We just ignore them since it seems way too much effort to move them. The “soil” is just decomposed rock and sand. Not much here in terms of vegetation.

Update on my RV short. If you guys remember Suz and I had to stay an extra night in Winslow AZ due to a bad short. We got the RV going but never found this damn short, (something to do with ground, ha). Well found it today, with help from Sadie. For those with a GMC 8.1 Workhorse chassis be sure to check this out. The short is on the curviture on the steering column where the heavy duty wire, 10 gage, goes across to the ignition switch. Check out the photos. Damn short was very evasive little bastard! Little black tape and rubber insulation on this metal curviture it will be fixed. Thank God! Safe travels to all. Great to meet you all. Later Bruce and Suz...Sadie too

Nice detective work. So pleased it was relatively easy to repair.
Happy touring, again!

Jennifer painted the rock with “25.” We don’t have room for “2025!”
Who just now left here this same minute you posted that.

They are on their way back to Phoenix.

But you're still stuck with me for about another week . . . .

I decided I will leave here when I need to dump, get water, propane or whatever, or on Monday the 10th, whichever comes first.

My point exactly,, it's been around for a long time..>>>Dan
Just to keep the tradition, why not remove all the dates and abbreviate them to just the two digits.
Should enable the stone to go on a few more years.
I think someone around the campfire suggested this.
