Since the BLM has had a lot of other things on their plate, they didn’t get around to raising the rates at Quartzsite for this winter. Therefore we can still have the rally as normal. It will officially be 17-25 January 2026 in the Tyson Wash LTVA. Details will be provided when we get there, but it will be somewhere in the southwest corner of Tyson Wash. Show up early if you want; there are usually some of us there. Show up late, and well, you never know. We do have a few planned activities, but everyone is free to attend them or not as they please. We will have a Happy Hour BYOB each day at 6:00 around the fire. This lets those of us who eat dinner have time to do it! Tuesday we will have a women’s get together. Bring your sewing machine, a hand craft, or just sit around and chat. Time TBD. Wednesday we will have some type of 4x4 ride. We won’t do anything too strenuous, but it should be fun. Saturday, 24 Jan, we will have the traditional fabulous potluck. Bring some type of food and your own plate/utensils. Sunday, 25 Jan, we will head to the Desert Bar for lunch and to listen to music.
Cost is only $40 for up to 2 continuous weeks of camping in the LTVA, paid to the BLM volunteers at the contact station. If you stay the season, the price is $180 from 15 Sep - 15 April. A box of wood for the campfire is greatly appreciated, and it is easy to find in town. Note you can re-up your 2 weeks of camping just by paying another fee. If you stay in the LTVA, there are trash dumpsters, fresh water, and a sewer dump available across Hwy 95. There are other camping areas that are free, but they have no services and you have to move every 14 days. There are multiple places in town where you can dump and fill with water at a price. There are also a number of full service campgrounds in town, but they get busy during the show so make reservations early. Some people even stay in Yuma and come up just for one or more of the activities. You don’t have to tell me or anyone else if you are coming, but I do appreciate a heads up. We aren’t rigid though, and I understand that plans change. Kevin has made some really nice RV Forum logo markers for this year to make sure everyone gets to the right place. Hopefully they won’t get stolen the way my little marker flags did last year!
