Quartzsite 2026 mostly unorganized rally

We decided to spend tonight at Rice Ranch RV Park, the one right across from the Big Tent location. The water at the LTVA was being turned off at noon until 2 Jan, and we didn’t think we’d make it that soon. Last day we could get December rates; they skyrocket in January! We’ll be over tomorrow.

It is still a couple of weeks until the rally officially begins, but Kevin and I drove the side by side around the LTVAs today to check about crowds. Surprisingly Tyson Wash (the area we will be) is more crowded than usual. There are two big groups of nomads, and they have attracted a lot of followers. Don’t worry! They are all very nice people and there is zero noise by quiet hours (10pm). There isn’t a lot of noise even before that. La Posa South is crowded as normal until about a half mile beyond where the pavement ends. Then it empties out quite a bit more than usual, a surprise. La Posa West is remarkably uncrowded still. Right next to the show grounds it is full, but there are a number of larger areas where groups normally stay that are completely empty. Maybe Canadians? The rock stores and the other shops along Kuehn Ave are VERY busy, and there are more of them than I have seen in a few years. The same is true for food vendors. There are a number of food trucks in addition to the normal restaurants the town has. We will be here until Wednesday when we head to Indio, but we will be back on Sunday 11 Jan.

We haven’t pulled it out yet since it is just us and Gary here. Gary had planned to leave before we got back from Indio, so we left it. You will be here before we get back, so make/find a firepit and pull it out.

That's right Dan. I can see your Tradition from our motor home. We're in the Silver Gray Pace Arrow about 500 to 1000 feet closer to the big tent site. Pam and Kev were parked behind us across a small drainage ditch.

As Dan said, I found him and led him to the Rally? site.

We're not really sure it's the official rally site. Pretty sure a couple of squatters took our site and our fire pit rocks. But we think we're close and Dan's probably flexible enough to move if the group doesn't like the NEW site. Maria and I won't be here. We're picking up my daughter in Phoenix and headed to lake Roosevelt for a few days.

For now, Dan's parked along side us and both coaches are still standing. Significant wind last night. Turned my screen room into a pretzel looking mess.

We will be there on Sunday again, and if the site is slightly different than last year that’s ok. It is always an early bird gets the worm thing. I will post our GPS pin when we get settled.

We leave the 14th but are not hurrying to get out there. Will try to make some of the event if time permits. First time for us there and need to learn a lot to get about etc.
