I discovered yesterday that the Three Sisters restaurant ( The big green building) has been bought out by the Mountain Quail restaurant,, and has been renovated inside and out,, prices slightly higher but reasonable..( By todays standards)>>>Dan

That building was originally a Stuckey's restaurant and gas stop.

I know during the 28 years I have been visiting this area,, the "sisters" did little to keep it in good repair..But the food was always good,>>>Dan

We are now settled in too, just a bit west of Dan. I am considering the Forum area to be the space between our coaches. Kevin has installed some nice signs with solar lights on them. If they aren’t stolen, it should help anyone coming back in the dark. Look for another post with pictures and directions.

We now have Dan West, Jennifer and Dan, and Bill and Dolly here. Probably more today and tomorrow. A few schedule changes: Happy Hour starts about 5:00, and the women’s sip and stitch will be on Wednesday, not Tuesday. We will talk about a drive at one of the Happy Hours to decide on location and day. And remember folks: No political discussions around the campfire! I guess it is possible to have a civil discussion these days, but I haven’t seen one happen in quite a while so I don’t want to chance it. Too much rude rhetoric on both sides. We can discuss black water treatments as much as we want though!

It's probably a good thing I won't be at the rally. I'm was born and raised in Minnesota and there are a few things I honestly think we all need to talk about.

We have had a number of people show up to join us at the nightly campfire. Here are the current attendees from left to right:

Bill and Pam are here, but Pam is feeling under the weather and couldn’t join us tonight.

The “Greater Quartzsite Ukulele Orchestra” has a concert on 29 Jan. Kevin may record some of it, particularly the song I am leading.

Rally is officially over, and the rock will be moved to its resting place tomorrow. We had the traditional visit to Silly Al’s on Tuesday. Yummy as usual. Greater Quartzsite Ukulele Orchestra concert was Thursday evening. Casual, not musically fabulous, but great fun. Friday we attended a music group in town. We are going to the Desert Bar tomorrow, delayed since I had some friends join us who wanted to go.

Here is most of the song I led during the ukulele concert on 29 January (Under the Boardwalk). I am on the front row left side with the microphone. You can occasionally hear my voice.

But I want to warn everyone that our travel approach is changing for the winter, beginning next season. We won’t be able to sponsor the rally anymore. It might just die a normal and expected death due to the low attendance, but that will be determined if anyone else steps up. There are a number of people who know where “the rock” is stored if it is resurrected next winter.
