Tim and I stumbled on this statement while traveling east through Canada (we are still here BTW counting down the days to the replacement windshield) and thought it would be fun to start a thread with Quirky sayings.  So here goes:

Relish Today
Ketchup Tomorrow

I know..I know...silly

I think Ogden Nash made up a ketchup bottle one like that. Here's an ode to the ketchup bottle, you want a little, you get a lottle...etc. He can't be blamed for everything, though.

Here today, gone tamale, I guess.

Somebody here has a nice little bit of wisdom on their signature:

Better to drive thy suitcase
Than to pack thy closet.

Gasp.

Er, that should be:

Better to drive thy closet
Than to pack thy suitcase.

If memory serves..  "Shake and shake the Ketchup bottle
                              First not a bit
                              And then a lottle.

Actually, it originated with a former forum member many years ago, so we can't take credit for it.

Shake and shake the catsup bottle, none will come, and then a lot'll.

? Ogden Nash (1902-1971)

(At least, that is what "googled".)

A different one entirely, from a 1952 book I have:

The song of canaries
Never varies
And when they're moulting
They're pretty revolting.

Heard in a meat market in Tyler, TX as I was leaving.
"Take your time leaving, but hurry back"
Thought that was petty cute.

In the last two days, I've seen the following:

On a small Ford pick-up:  "Silly Boys, trucks are for girls"

On a Jeep Liberty:  "Silly boys, Jeeps are for girls"

Looking for a comeback, the only thing I can come with, although politically incorrect is:
"Silly girls, bras are for cars"

Re ____ are for Girls.

There is a Science Fiction author (Ben Bova if memory serves) who in one of his books put forth the theory that EVERYTHING is for Girls and Girls control the world.

You see, men do all the things they do, in order to impress the best girls and thus get the most beautiful wife.

So, the Girls, by deciding what impresses them, run the world.

So ______ is for girls.

And it's a fact, Some cars are collectors items  You drive down the road in one of those, and sooner or later the right seat is gonna collect something female

Shhhh, don't tell them.....we've spent centuries letting men think they're in charge when we know they're not.

My grandparents lived on Caddo Lake and when asked if he fished much my Gran Gran would reply "Once in a while....... Once in the morning and a while in the evening".
He also told me, "If a man pays you for a days work and you don't give it to him, you have stolen from him."
My Dad had a few also, "Behave yourself,.....everytime you think about it." and "Son, some folks have to be paid to be good, but you're good for nothing."
When my brother or I got injured, Dad used to look at the boo boo and say,  "Hmmmm, that will feel good when it quits hurting."
Pretty quirky, I always thought.  LOL
