Rain Brings a Welcome Cool Down After Heat

After days of having both A/C units running and the electric meter spinning like the one in “Christmas Vacation” when Clark fired up the Christmas lights, we’re finally having a cool-down. We haven't seen much rain here near Oneonta, NY, but it has cooled down today, and it looks like some rain may be on the way in another hour or so. No A/C in our little rental cabin, so the cool down is very much appreciated!

That rain you talked about is coming towards NH. Usually it fizzles out before it gets here. I believe we are still in a drought so we could use the rain

I live near Pittsburgh. We had a thunderstorm roll through about an hour ago. Went form 92 down to 80, but temps are starting to rise again .
Next week we should be in the mid 80's.

Our area got a downpour about 2030 hrs/ 8:30PM for civilians. Pretty much doused all the fireworks planned for tonight.

I got to admit coming home from the outdoor concert venue (Outdoor concert)
The cool down post cloudburst was nice
The Cloudburst however killed the concert, Damaged Instruments, and electronics.
Several thousand of dollars worth of damage.

We got heavy rain for a half hour at my sister's house near Bass Lake, CA about 4 AM last night. Enough to wake me up as it fell on the RV's roof. Today's overcast with temperatures in the low 80s and about 60% humidity - a bit cooler but more humid than the low 90s we've had for the past week. Nights have been comfortable for sleeping with the windows open, lows in the mid 60s.

We have had so, so, so much rain in Iowa! We were in a drought status over much of the state heading into spring, and I don’t think we have gone more than 3 or 4 days without rain since. The big city fireworks show was rescheduled to tonight with nice partly cloudy skies, a gentle breeze, and NO RAIN FORECAST. I probably jinxed that, just by typing it. I have been waiting 2 months for a stretch of 10 days without rain to have a landscaper and heavy equipment into my yard. Looking like August now …

Spent the july 4th weekend plus a couple of days, at the jersey shore and it turned into a real adventure, with the extreme temps, thunder storms rolling thru, and power outages. It all worked out though and with the group we were there with, still had a great time.
You just have to make the best of any situation.
