Rear Left Brake Line Fabrication in Dothan, Alabama

Rear LEFT brake line

• 2001 Holiday Rambler Ambassador
• VIN: 1RF12041911012332
• Rear axle: Dana S135S
• Roadmaster chassis

Looking for anyone who could rebuild/place this line. Willing to ship.
Have tried all the ‘usual suspects’ and have exhausted all local options. Looking for help as I am currently a sitting duck.

Is the damage in the center the only problem? Any brake shop should be able to cut out the damage and add the correct fittings to flare the ends and reconnect it. That's assuming the existing end fittings are non-standard and unavailable. Another option for a brake shop would be to cut the line and remove the fittings, and the reinstall them on a new line from their bulk stock.

Ok, those pictures make it clearer. I'd be looking for a short brake hose and solid premade line, plus the fittings to connect them together. Most auto parts stores should have what you need.

Another option since this is the rear axle, would be to cut the old line near the fixed end and crimp the cut end a couple times to plug it. Reconnect it and bleed the fluid at the right brake, and then continue on carefully with three wheel brakes. Since the missing brake is in the rear, the pull when braking should be minimal. Of course replace the line when you get back to civilization. In my 65 years driving various vehicles, I've done this on more than one occasion.

A double flare kit will solve your problems and will have the advantage that you can make the line the correct length and have less connections to possibly leak.

Check your local NAPA auto parts store,, they may be able to make up that line for you if you take the old line with you..>>>Dan

Did you call the hydraulic hose line place I sent (or any of the others) or are you waiting till Monday. I know they are 24 hour, but you'd pay for that...LOL
May or not be worth it depending on your timeline, situation. etc...

Shop is closed on the weekend.
Will hopefully find a fab shop Monday to make the line. The shop where my rig is does not have thread gauges so they aren’t able to pursue this reproduction. Hoping we get it figured out Monday.

I’m at McGriff Tire in Dothan, AL

Supposedly there is someone in town who can build this brake line.
Fingers crossed today.
Plan B is to take the line, fly to Dallas to my guy who can make the entire line, stamp DOT and come back to Alabama.

We have called 17 shops within a 100 mile radius of Dothan. No one can make this line apparently.

Very frustrating.
Should have towed my rig to Atlanta.
Lesson learned.
