The Southeast Georgia Chapter in Savannah is seeking volunteers to get trained and be deployed to assist people in the hardest hit areas. The training required to deploy as a Red Cross volunteer takes about 16 hours and teaches volunteers how to provide services, such as sheltering, feeding, client casework and logistics (bulk distribution of goods). Once trained, volunteers must plan for a minimum two week deployment. People interested in volunteering can contact Melissa Axley at (912) 651-5321 Training starts on Friday, November 9th.
